Maybe it's just his race's look. All Turians look fucking bad ass, like tier 1 operators. Have you ever seen a lame or whiny Turian? No. They're all just chilling out while casually fighting off 100 enemy combatants. Jacob also never had anything to talk about, but his loyalty mission was the ONLY thing remotely interesting related to him.
