I guess in ME3, some of the oldies will be on the Normandy as support like with Tali in the engines or whatever the fuck she was.

Just completed what will (hopefully) be my last playthrough of Mass Effect 1... I mean, not ever. And not 'hopefully' as in I don't want to play it again, but I mean my last playthrough PRIOR to ME3s release.
During the battle of the citadel I'm fairly sure I saw an alliance ship simply BUMP into Sovereign at like 1km/h and BLOW UP.
Structural integrity fail.

The Alliance seem to make ships out of glass and sugar paper. The Geth seem to build theirs out of pink play dough , but that still beats glass most times... :sigh:

Sovereign has that red shieldy stuff doesn't he? That might cause damage.

Enough damage to cause a fully functioning alliance warship to EXPLODE at a speed as slow as a human walking?
I'm just gonna go with bad engineering/construction.

I think that it was a turian cruiser actually.
And wasn't it damaged already?
I think that it was a turian cruiser actually.

I'm pretty sure it was an alliance ship, but I could be wrong.
The camera angle is from 'below' Sovereign as he first uses his magnetohydrodynamic tentacle beams of death. Although I'm fairly sure the ship that blows up isn't even hit by one. It just seems to really casually and gently bump into Sovereign and then spontaneously explodes.

that could have been a suicide run on the reaper.
"fuck it.. the ship will be destroyed anyway, we might as well try to take down that one aswell, FULL SPEED AHEAD!" - *BOOM*

Skip to like 5:15 and watch until 5:25 or so. It happens at roughly 5:20.
It appears to get hit on the nose by a missile after watching it again.
Think, if planes travel so fast why do they appear to go slowly?
Size.
If the single cruiser had a few hundred crew and sovereign was 2 or so miles long, to a man in the cruiser sovereign would have slammed into them at 100 miles an hour considering from our view sovereign at least moved double his own length in 10 seconds.

If you're talking about the one on the top right that explodes, I can see a Reaper cannon hit it if you pause at 5:24 (but it explodes and then gets hit by the beam, odd.)
Doctor Chakwas is by far one of the best Mass Effect characters.
Why the fuck wasn't there a paragon interrupt to give a big hug or something when you first meet her on the Normandy? She's like a fucking mother to the crew. She deserves one.

She's up there with Joker as one of the best non-party characters, it's a shame we don't get the chance to talk to her about anything new after we're done getting her Serrice Ice Brandy.

i want to sex her up
I'm a bit confused. At the end of ME1 I chose to focus on Sovereign and was paragon. I said Anderson should be the representative for the council too. According to the ME wiki I should have gotten this text at the start:
“In 2183, the heart of the galactic community suffered a devastating attack.
The Citadel space station was invaded by a synthetic geth army attempting to open a portal for the Reapers: enormous machines that eradicate all organic civilization every 50,000 years. Commander Shepard led the defense, but the Citadel Council was lost.
Now, the new human-led Council attempts to quell rumors of the Reapers' return. Hoping to ease public concern, they've sent Commander Shepard and the starship Normandy to wipe out all remaining geth resistance.”
Instead I'm getting the fully renegade starting text reading:
“One month after the devastating geth attack on the Citadel, humanity seized political control of the galaxy.
Now the human-led Council is forced to respond to evidence that the Reapers -- enormous machines that eradicate all advanced civilizations every 50,000 years — have returned. To quell the rumors, the Council has sent Commander Shepard and the Normandy to wipe out the last pockets of geth resistance. Officially, they blame the invasion on the geth and their leader, a rogue Spectre.
When it comes to handling the crews medical matters, I prefer Mordin.
But seeing as Chakwas is guaranteed to survive even if the rest of the crew don't, it's pretty much a certainty that she'll return.

Did you import your ME1 save correctly?
Oh wait, apparantly she can die if you don't send an escort with the crew. But still she's the most likely to survive of all the crew (besides Joker)

Yup. Same character I completed earlier today (well yesterday technically). Checked the date and the time, it all matched up.
I was 100% Paragon, and just under 20% Renegade. At the end I picked focus on Sovereign. When Udina mentioned the possibility of a human led council I said that abandoning the Destiny Ascension and the council wasn't some horrible and cunning plan to get human's into power, and said that the other races wouldn't accept a human council. I proposed that Anderson should be the human chairman on a new council. Anderson gave his speech about cooperating with the other races and how together we'd drive the Reapers back into dark space.
Yet... ME2 seems to think that didn't happen.
Mass Effect MMO
Has cycles. After a good period of time, Reapers invade. How well players cooperate and look past their transgressions determines if the galaxy survives or not. If the Reapers are successfully defeated, the galaxy keeps going like normal for another cycle and then the Reapers invade again. If they are unsuccessful, everyone has to start over.
Would produce some interesting political scenarios. "I fucking hate you but I don't want to lose all of my shit, so let's fight these assholes together."
Late reply, but this kind of negotiation sprang to my mind:

The Council died. Choosing to focus on Sovereign, the neutral option, results in the destruction of the Destiny Ascension.
I'm not sure if you're supposed to get a different text intro for ME2, but the intro you posted earlier makes sense based on your choices.

If you read both text intros I posted both regard the loss of the council, but one states that they new council was human led, whereas the other one states that humanity seized 100% political control. I should have got the 'human led' council one, but I'm not getting it.
Also Moonbase Alpha lulz.

I imagine what would happen in the future internet.
The third Alliance Cruiser couldn't have exploded simply due to being hit by the geth flagship!
It was a controlled demolition! Udina's administration and the Systems Alliance government are behind this!

Check out this save editor: http://mod.gib.me/masseffect2/saveedit_rev25.zip
Import an ME2 save file and look in the ME1 variables section.
Find out what checks are being placed for your ME1 ending.
As an example, here are my variables:

If you want to change some stuff, do so, make a backup of your save file and then overwrite your save.
In order to import an ME2 save file to start New Game+, you will need to have beaten the game. You could change your endgame state to avoid having to beat the game:

This will allow you to import your save file faster, and you should hopefully see the desired opening.

Yeah, right, because the machines which exterminate all organic life every 50,000 years exist. I have read krogan fairy tales that are more believable. (And more violent)

Krogan fairytales sound bloody. Probably fun to read

Playing on xbox but I'm gonna give it a shot tomorrow. I'll copy a save file onto a USB and hopefully I can open it up in gibbed.
And naturally, the most infamous place on the extranet would be vorchan, the most popular website among the vorcha.
