Was not ME2 released in late January/ Early February Actually if memory serves me, I'm guessing like the 28'th of January. To wiki Back, I was right. Creepy to remember that but not what homework i did last week :ohdear:
ME3 was developed months before ME2 was released. And it was supposed to have the same dev window with ME3.

Speaking of MEC: [release] Artbook announced We are happy to announce you that the alpha will have it's own artbook, containing concept art made by Norton, Fuelreaver and Criz. Just for the occasion, we decided to conduct a short interview. Most of the concept artists on MEC work on another department as well, Criz for example, is a writer, Fuelreaver is the cutscene artist and Norton is of course, the project lead. Therefore, it made sense to ask them if concept art is particularly helpful in their work. "It is interwined; thinking about the character when writing the description can give me ideas for how the character should look... or 'could' as it is a process that's in flux and might change later on. And sometimes just thinking about a 'cool' looking character can lead to the development of their character and story." says Criz. Fuel adds "Trying to visualise not only the amazing character written by our writers would look, but how they would look in the ME'verse is sometimes challanging but always incredibly fun. " Mass Effect Chronicles is easily one of the greatest efforts made by the fan base in order to develop a piece of art. "There's nothing quite like seeing your thoughts and ideas come to life on-screen." states Norton. "I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with such a great and enthusiastic team!". Fuelreaver is in agreement with Norton. "When i started work on MEC it was a very new and exciting experience for me, working so closely and regularly with people from all over the world and many different backgrounds, who have all been bought together through a unified passion and love for the ME verse. Its a wonderful experience to be a part of." The dev team is comprised of members from 9 different countries and 3 different continents. Inspiration is different from one person to another. For Norton, it's the team itself. "If there's any reason whatsoever that this project is still going as strong as it is today, it's all because of the team I'm working with and their genuine desire to create this game. Criz is inspired by the Mass Effect universe and it's lore. "We are creating our own little part in the ME-verse . We have some rules and guidance, but also a lot of freedom." she says. As for their favourite creations? For Norton, it's the interior of Vazill's ship. For Fuelreaver, it's Vazill's character and attitude. And for Criz, it's the turian business suits. Hopefully, we'll see them in-game in the future! As for you? What will be your favourite piece of the artbook? Make sure not to spend too much time wondering about that, because the alpha may appear out of the blue!
And it was supposed to have the same dev window with ME3.
and they integrated like 5 new systems and refined countless others, including an overhaul of the rendering engine. Wasn't going to happen, and that's a good thing because the improvements will be warranted. I'd rather not end like Halo 3 did with "HAI GAIS OUR NEW LIGHTING IS SO BOSS YO" and have everything else suck, especially story, because 90% of dev logistics was spent on multi. Everything so far looks like a serious upgrade in depth without sacrificing usability or thematic awesomeness. Bring on the delay.

I'm so behind on the whole MEC stuff. It does look interesting though and I guess now is as good a time as any to get more info about it lol
I'm okay with it. I've been actively stopping myself from getting hyped, and it's paying off.
I tend to expect disappointment with every game. Then when a good one comes along, it's a pleasant surprise. Helps with the hype too.
At least it desaturates the holiday season a little.

At least I'll have Skyrim to keep me busy.
I'll have Battlefield 3 in my arms for the couple of months ME3 won't be available.
I'll have Battlefield 3 in my arms for the couple of months ME3 won't be available.
Probably the only game i'm looking forward to in that time of this year other then ME3
Brink next week, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, possibly Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Yeah, I'm set.
Duke Nuke'em also. If only to see the reviews and how it turned out
http://wireless.ign.com/articles/116/1166041p1.html Apparently Mass Effect 3 for iPod Touch/iPhone, along with Battlefield 3 too.
Thank God it's delayed. I'm going to have no money left by the end of this year [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
http://wireless.ign.com/articles/116/1166041p1.html Apparently Mass Effect 3 for iPod Touch/iPhone, along with Battlefield 3 too.
goddamnit

Hopefully it's just some small game intended as advertisement or something
Seems out of character for BW but since the common link is EA...Yeah. Hopefully it's just some small game intended as advertisement or something
maybe it'll end up a spinoff like that game with Jacob/Miranda
I wouldn't mind this, since Bioware wouldn't be the developer.
Seems out of character for BW but since the common link is EA...Yeah. Hopefully it's just some small game intended as advertisement or something
I got a feeling it's going to kind of like Dead Space for iPod Touch/iPhone graphicly with different gameplay elements of course. Maybe like a solo thing that ties into the console/pc versions of ME3
Last night I was having a good ol' think while in the shower. Was trying to figure out why the Reapers... well... reap. I know we've all considered a lot of reasons, but then, I think a new one hit me: A few of us considered the idea that maybe Reapers destroy all advanced life forms because mass effect technology damages stars/space itself. But then I got thinking... maybe the Reapers are INTENTIONALLY damaging stars, causing them to age prematurely, then letting them go supernova so that they can return to the galaxy and harvest an entire solar system's worth of element zero (as element zero is formed when matter is exposed to a star going supernova). After all, any intelligent, space faring species in the ME universe that lives long enough is gonna find that element zero supplies begin to dwindle, and it's not something that under any normal circumstances you can artificially produce. Maybe the Reapers got to this point in the past and went, "fuck it, let's make more element zero!" and forced a star to prematurely age. Then they left and hibernated again until slowly their element zero supplies dwindled (a solar system's worth of element zero is a LOT, but it's not infinite, and given how large the Reapers are, and how numerous they are, I can easily see them burning through all of it in 50000-100000 years or so). Of course some may argue what's the point in hibernating for 50000 years only to be awake for a few hundred years (during their reaping), but... that's what life does. Lots of animals hibernate for exorbitant periods of time, then only wake to collect food, mate, and return to hibernation. Life would rather exist and yet only spend 1/1000 of its time awake than perish completely. The only part that wouldn't make sense to me is: why bother extinguish all life in the galaxy each time you perform this process. Perhaps because a star going supernova would probably be relatively obvious and would draw the attention of anyone on its side of the galaxy, and the Reapers obviously wouldn't want their precious bounty to be stolen. Just an idea that I was considering.
