Looked a bit big for a Batarian.
But whatever race it was, it shows the reapers are expanding their experiments.
All the husks are mix and match, plus again, it's a husk, it's not going to be quite like the original (for some odd reason ;) )
Dude, it ISN'T the same team, period, fullstop. There have been changes across the board. That's direct from staff, and all you have to do is peruse the hiring pages over the course of production. Secondly, Lead X does not equal entire team, and individual character and scenario writers have LEFT THE COMPANY much less the game. I should know, I'm still in contact with a couple.
Are you talking about the staff from 2 or 3, now?
No they, aren't. The themes and individual vo/char/write have rather markedly changed,
The themes from one act to another should remain unchanged? Are you serious?
only the methodology for importing information to the player has not changed at all, ever. Are you just being purposefully obtuse? Consumers here and BSN and GameFaqs and pretty much everywhere else and its dog have remarked repeatedly on the rather stark differences between versions, and 3 is NOT going to be the same as 2, whether specifically OR generally parsed.
You are still talking about changes in the general atmosphere of the story from one game to another. And you still haven't proved how these differences aren't due to them being different chapters.
You are basically claiming that all acts in a trilogy should have the same atmosphere and structure. Which is simply wrong.
It felt really strange fighting so many Merc's in ME2.
After fighting Geth for the majority of ME1 it seemed like the Merc's were small time and boring.
You fight Collectors in as many missions you fought Geth.
Screenshot is a batarian-esque husk that noms dead people for juju. (guess that means corpses actually hang around this iteration)
The face looks Batarian, but the thing is massive. Makes me dread to think what the Krogan husk will look like
The thing that "eats" corpses for energy is actually a "Human-batarian-Reaper" hybrid, called "Cannibal". It's probably the husk with the cuttlefish-y mouth in the PS3 Magazine.

I'm sure Cannibals are Batarian/Human hybrids, and the only confirmed Krogan husk is the armour plated Turian/Krogan hybrid... damn you Phaedon! :ninja:
Hard to tell now that I looked at the image again. The body is quite large and resembles a Yahg or a Krogan, but the head and the eye placement looks Batarian. Granted however, the head on the creature looks completely synthetic.

Well that helps. Hybrids are going to be interesting, the combinations could make some great enemies.
You know, that may confirm the existence of Proto-Reapers. And yes, they do look like cuttlefish after all.
[editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
Oh, btw, James Sanders was renamed to James Vega.

If this is because he is a distant relation of Vincent/Vic Vega, I am okay with this.
Probably to avoid confusion with the Sanders from the books which is who I thought off as soon as I heard of him.

They may changed the character due to the VA/face of the character.
They may changed the character due to the VA/face of the character.
Because they thought his face/voice suited the last name "vega" better than "Sanders"?
Or possibly because he looks more like a hitman than a Colonel

Carlos Ferro please.

Oh come on I was expecting a link to Sanders.
:smith:
Wait Vega? General Vega?

inb4 he OD's.
TIM want to kill Shepard because he is one of the keys to fighting off the reapers, somehow
The Geth were unknown but they followed the lines of a normal military. They were always hostile, they were uniform except for their different ranks and specialisations, they held specific points of strategic interest, they were an army. As an Alliance soldier, it is your job to fight them.
Mercs are only hostile when you fuck with them, they are divided into different merc bands and lack a uniformity between them, they hold nothing except their own bases and what they get paid to do, they are nothing alike. As a freelancer, it is your job to do whatever you want and fuck them over in the process.

No, I'm not claiming that at all nor is it even intimated, which again; are you just acting stupid on purpose or imitating that you have asperger's because all you've done is spout literalisms without picking up an ounce of nuance or context. The staff has changed through all three iterations, that's not even up for debate. So there's one of your suppositions down the drain before even starting.
You're apparently claiming all act in trilogy should be Star Wars which is just as profoundly moribund you claiming I said all the acts should follow the same structure. The only "rule" to follow is the reapers are defeated, every and anything else depends on what plans are are laid for future products in the universe. This isn't a novel or movie, and the game play is obviously a big fucking deal, as the game has been delayed for tuning and story elements had zero to do with that.
The Collectors isn't even germane to the subject except as the enemy du jour in one installment. Their entire premise was foreshadowing, and that deal is done.
3 isn't going to play or exposit like 2, period.
All this talk of Vega is making me think I've wandered into a Street Fighter thread.
[sp]Alas, no such thread exists so I have nowhere to tell everyone how much I love Juri from SSF4.[/sp]
Except there's a rather large fighting game thread. With pictures and everything.
Why the hell does everyone hate Kaidan and Ashley.

Oh.
Why the hell does everyone hate Kaidan and Ashley.
Because they're the humans, the familiars, the ones that we've seen over and over again. Turians, Krogan, Asari, it's all new and exciting. Humans though, this archetype mixed with that generic backstory and placed over a bland, dull, human.
Other races have lenience for being boring, they're aliens. If humans were as bland as them though, it's boring because we've seen plenty of humans before.
Why the hell does everyone hate Kaidan and Ashley.
I actually quite like Kaidan, I just always have him sacrifice himself because it seems in character. Ashley is a great character too, one that is less popular because she is written to be a bit of a hardhead. Her conflict and trust issues with the other species gives a lot of room for character development.
They get a lot less attention though because they're just humans. Compared to the angry toad man and the sexy blue lady, not much to talk about. In all seriousness though, i'm excited to see them both back in the final game.
I just finished Mass Effect 2. (I also got ME1, but i never had time to play it, oddly)
I got the end where [sp] Shepard blows up the base. Thane, Jack, Legion and Jacob died though [/sp]

Critical Mission Failure.
How?
Letting the team die is no bueno.
Feels bad man.

What. No.
Zaeed is a human. People fucking love him.
I hate Kaidan because his personality is bland as shit. Never says anything interesting. Never says anything funny. No real emotion in his voice beyond very slight fluctuations of tone. Generic cookiecutter "I'll suck your dick if you want me to" character.
I hate Ashley because she's just as boring. The whole poetry thing isn't interesting at all and just gets outright annoying. Every time she says something with poetry, I wish there was a selection on the dial that says "Jesus fuck, you just killed some of my brain cells with that shit." Just like Kaidan, the voice acting is bad. How many people can hear the "I'm an Alliance soldier, it's in my blood," line from Ashley on Horizon in ME2 and not cringe? I know I can't, it comes out so damn awkward and stupid, just like the poetry.
Hell, Garrus would still be my bro even if he was human because I felt a connection with him when playing as a renegade. His voice acting is great and he has quite a few funny lines, I still chuckle every time he says "Definitely like old times," on Tali's recruitment mission when the Colossus shoots at you after opening the blast doors. I enjoy most of the characters because they all have something that truly makes them unique. Kaidan and Ashley have no personality traits that make them unique other than being retarded and having the ability to say the world's stupidest shit.
Wish I coulda Virmire'd the fuck out of both of them. It was a tough choice for me because I couldn't determine who I hated more.
I sacrificed Ashley because I hated her face and bright pink armor
