Holy shit, Overlord was great! I've heard Arrival is a bit of a letdown from it though.
A bit, But worth it
There's two separate 'abandon the council' outcomes. One is paragon, the other renegade. Someone a few pages back said that the Kirrahe flag IS normally bugged, actually. And I'd believe him, because, as he said, there's NO mention of the supposed email you're supposed to get if you saved him in ME1 on the Mass Effect wiki.
I got one. You get it after Mordin's loyalty mission. Saving Kirrahe has nothing to do with where he is. You have three sub-objectives, if you complete all three on your way to your final destination, The Salarian casualties will be minimal. [editline]14th May 2011[/editline]
Yes, because Mark Vanderloo doesn't want to be portrayed as a gay guy. They still make all the gay scenes and dialouge, but they leave it locked out. Then the community just happen to find them and hack them back into the game.
Completely false. Both Meer and Hale record all the same lines. and so do the SNPCS, regardless of sex or gender orientation. Homophobia has jack shit to do with a corporate decision.
In relation to the alternative ME covers a bit back, I took the first one and fixed the angle and some other things. Still pretty low res due to it seeming to have been taken with a phone. Maybe BW could do us a favor and release a proper version of the cover, It looks awesome

The image of a Reaper gripping a planet is awesome though.
I changed the phrase a bit. The original was "The reaping begins" That did not feel that good to me. I still have the document open if you have another line in mind
Mass Effect Megathread - I was just waxing guddamn nostalgic
Best line in the game. That accent sells it.
I changed the phrase a bit. The original was "The reaping begins" That did not feel that good to me. I still have the document open if you have another line in mind
How about, "the Cycle begins."
How about, "the Cycle begins."
But it began before humanity
But it began before humanity
The cycle repeats. A cycle don't really have a start or a stop if it's a cycle and who cares, It does sound good. But maybe "The Cycle Repeats"
The cycle repeats. A cycle don't really have a start or a stop if it's a cycle and who cares, It does sound good. But maybe "The Cycle Repeats"
The Cycle Continues, maybe? Wouldn't the Cycle technically begin with the extermination of all life in the galaxy (since I've always thought of the Cycle as beginning with the death of all life, followed by 50k years of dormancy, and the first Cycle would've been the Reapers exterminating whatever life was in the galaxy.)
The Cycle Continues, maybe?
Not a bad idea, Te whole thing with The Cycle fits well
Repeating isn't something I would see in an advertisement and say "Yeah, I think I'll give all my money to whoever made this".
I find it a bit strange that Ashley features promanantly in the alternate covers and the final ME cover.
Whoever the fuck made the reapers was pretty daft.
I find it a bit strange that Ashley features promanantly in the alternate covers and the final ME cover.
She's one of the poster characters for the series, along with Garrus. [editline]14th May 2011[/editline]
Whoever the fuck made the reapers was pretty daft.
What if the Reapers made themselves?
She's one of the poster characters for the series, along with Garrus.
Yet you can kill her off very easily and much less interesting than Garrus.
What if the Reapers made themselves?
If we get a glimpse of the first reaper, archreaper, the creator, what have you. I can only imagine what it would look like. The art direction and concept art from Bioware is always stunning.
Does anyone else not like the original logo next to the N7 style red box that is the logo of ME2 and 3? I feel like it clashes too much and looks unprofessional.
Whoever the fuck made the reapers was pretty daft.
The Geth could be what the Reapers once were. Legion makes the Geth sound generally peaceful, but you can't let Legion's awesome bro powers cloud your ability to reason. If the Geth are left to just develop themselves and get stronger without any intervention, they could eventually become super powerful machines. They would most likely come to understand that if every single one of them was the same, a single virus or problem could wipe them all out. This problem is encountered by organic lifeforms too, which is why it's important to mingle amongst the species and mix genes, it increases the race's odds of survival. Asari can reproduce amongst themselves but choose to reproduce with other races as well so genetic variations can protect them from being wiped out. That being said, maybe the Reapers realized they couldn't just change up the code for new reproductions and call it a day. They are still computers, and while they can have what we know of as "ideas," those ideas aren't pulled out of the blue. A Geth couldn't paint or describe something it has never seen. It could take what it knows about the thing and make assumptions, but it couldn't create a picture like humans or other organic species can. If you told a Geth to try and make a Geth with different programming, the creation would be different but would still contain a huge chunk of the original Geth source code. Why? Because computers need references, they can't just pull shit out of thin air. Reapers, achieving an extremely high level of intelligence, realized that organic life was the solution to this problem. Use organic lifeforms and random variation they contain as the core of new Reapers, then install Reaper software on the organic-based hardware. That way, a virus could not wipe out all of the Reapers because it's as if Reapers are running on different operating systems. The software might be the same, like using Firefox on both Mac and Windows, but a virus delivered through Firefox that fucks up Windows would not fuck up Mac. Generally speaking, the Reapers designed themselves. They are what happens if computers achieve sentience and you just let them do whatever the fuck they want.

Disrupt communications. Destroy satellite uplink. Destroy Geth fliers. Disable Alarms (without triggering the other alarms). Did all four (and went to Kirrahe's team at the AA tower). Kirrahe is still dead according to the save editor I used.
Just finished ME2. Saved Arrival for the very last. I thought it was interesting having to go through most if not all of it by yourself, no squadmates allowed, but [sp]the Doctor's betrayal[/sp] was kinda predictable, given how [sp]Reaper Indoctrination[/sp] works and the fact that [sp]a Reaper Artifact was sitting right there in the open. Clearly it would have Indoctrinated someone after sitting there for so long[/sp]. The conversation with [sp]Harbinger[/sp] made up for it, though.

And I held at the bomb with Kaidan, not the AA tower. So again tower would have little to do with it apparently, unless it's simply bugged to begin with. try ala: http://b4rt.rootnode.net/masseffect/index.php
Disrupting communications happens when you breach regardless, after taking the fuel section down.
That still doesn't explain why the flag is ticked with 'Kirrahe alive' is not ticked. I did all of those things, went back for his team and Kaidan, and yet he's dead. And the ME wiki, as I said, has no mention of the email in ME2. In fact there isn't even a section about ME2 in Captain Kirrahe's ME wiki page. Are you sure you didn't edit a save to have him alive?
May be late, I don't know

The only mods I have for me2 are my own textures and some of Jean Luc's and a HOLYSHIT RIDICULOUS GRAPHICS .ini file. I wasn't even aware there was an issue with Kirrahe until this thread, since it doesn't impact anything.
May be late, I don't know
Late, but whatever. Miracle of Sound has a bunch of good songs, they have a Wheatley song too. Not to mention that dudes channel is goofy as shit.

See, I'm worried about save editing too because I don't want it to effect ME3 making it so that I can't play through with my character (sure you can back them up, but I'd hate to put like 20 hours into a playthrough (playing on Insanity as an Adept is pretty hard) that's been edited) and be like, "yes, I can play ME3!" and then it's like, "OLOLOL CORRUPT SAVE!"
