Note the guy is just a guy with a beard. Not exciting, not a neckbeard.
Christ, this thread was only started a month and a half ago and already it'd taking its final, dying breaths.

Cruisin around blastin dem reapas
I don't think Joker would like that.
There would be hell to pay.
I wonder if the head Reaper was like to Harbinger:
"Ah yes, 'Shepard', the alleged immortal human who killed our vanguard and destroyed the Collector base? We have dismissed that claim!"

We have already controlled him once, No reason why we can't do it again and blow shit up

Dunno if I got this from here or not but whatever just in case.
The cinematic quality of the Mass Effect conversation system.
To me Harbinger seems a lot nicer about humans then anything else
To me Harbinger seems a lot nicer about humans then anything else
Also his voice is a lot nicer. Go back to the conversation with Sovereign (Again, My favorite) it's all doom and destruction just in the voice

Garry is such a whiny prima donna sometimes.
"it's mah forum, respect mah 'thoritah"
Something like that
Also the quote text just grew again. Also seems do be drop shadow in the post field if i'm not mistaken. Looks kinda good to me
Can anyone else (besides 27X) confirm that they kept Kirrahe alive and recieved an email from him in ME2?
Also, to what degree does everyone think the Protheans will be involved in ME3? I recall reading somewhere that we go to Mars in ME3, so I guess it's conceivable we may venture down to the Prothean ruins. I think they're too big a part of the lore of the Mass Effect universe to not have them play a big part in the climactic finale.
Plus I hope all of the stuff like the Leviathan of Dis, and the potential Jupiter Brain gas giant come back as plot points in ME3. Would be interesting.
I kept Kirrahe alive and brought him aboard the Normandy after
And i would love to see some of the interesting stuff like the Jupiter brain be used. I think they left them there in ME1 to have the option to use them later in the series if needed
I never received an email from him, and have never heard of that happening.
The only indicator i've ever heard of is how Mordin mentions him when Shepard tells him he worked with a Kirrahe on Virmire. Mordin will either say that he heard Kirrahe died or that 'he was a part of that' if he lived.

Same, but the problem is, apparently if you keep him alive you're meant to get an email from him in ME2, which I have no recollection of ever receiving (plus the box labelled 'Kirrahe Alive' is not ticked for me on this save editor: http://b4rt.rootnode.net/masseffect/index.php/site/index )

Maybe, but then again, BioWare are incredibly smart bastards. I'll bet a few of the things they mentioned in passing were planned to be important from the very start (while some were just there to make the ME universe more fun to explore and read about, and to give them potential plot points in future).
I have never got the email what i can remember ether, Then again i just speedmark all the initial mails as read when i start the game but maybe it's a glitch
and maybe Mars and the Jupiter brain has some connection to each other. Virgil talked about "Others" who hid from the reapers. Maybe the stored their knowledge inside the planet. Or maybe themselves in a kind of AI form, Maybe a collective consciousness
While reading about it I couldn't help but think maybe it was a couple of 'back up' Reapers (it described the objects as 'huge and metallic' I believe). Although that probably isn't it, or my guess is they'd have become active after Sovereigns destruction.
I had thought perhaps they were a 'first wave' of Reapers should the Reapers plans all fail and they needed to enter the galaxy on their own FTL drives (like they start doing at the end of ME2). Y'know, to start the invasion while waiting for the rest of the Reapers to catch up.
I think Reapers are bringing back the Rite of Prima Nocta.

I kept Kirrahe alive (had to play through half the game again just to do it...), Mordin mentioned him being alive but I don't remember any email from him but I might have just forgotten...

I hope we get to work with/see Kirrahe and the STG again. Kirrahe was the guy who made me like "God damn it, we need a salarian on our team".
In fact, it would be nice to see a lot of the lesser characters again. I hope they have a larger role too (not a mini-main character role but one that you at least know they're part of the story and not just as a cameo) People like Shiala, Rana Thanoptis, Charles Saracino, Chellick, and maybe a character from one of the books.

I can see Kirrahe and the STG being very important in ME3 on Sur'Kesh, considering its supposedly [sp] in conflict over the genophage.[/sp] I can see keeping Mordin alive also influencing that one a lot, along with Wrex, Grunt, and your decision on Maelon's Genophage research. I think that Sur'Kesh will be a big part in winning over both species allegiances in ME3.
I got ME1 in the Steam sale that was on last week, and I can't seem to get any enjoyment out of it. Most of my time seems to have been spent walking between rooms talking to people. When I get into combat, my allies seem to do bugger all and die very quickly, and I follow shortly. Admittedly, I've only been playing for around 3 hours, but I have yet to enjoy myself. What am I missing out here? I find it hard to believe that a game which is lauded by so many is completely lost on me.

It may be down to personal preferences or your playstyle. Many people are unused to the RPG elements to begin with. Try your best to position your squadmates and focus fire using all your powers during combat. Also the conversations can drag on at first, but they can allow you to make huge decisions which will affect the rest of the game, or to gain vital info. Hope you enjoy ME1 more! ;buddy:

Could be the way that you are playing. A big part of the game is talking to characters. Story and characters are important. As for the combat, You are ether [a] Bad or playing on a too high difficulty or [b] not using abilities, Checking so that you and your team has the best equipment available and the best armor as well as upgrades
The combat in ME1 is a bit outdated and buggy but it's still fun
