New features sounds interesting. I'm not really excited about the franchise but when the sequel comes around, I'll buy it.

That's the obvious answer. Possibly, Shepard will betray TIM to the Alliance at his/her supposed trial at the beginning of ME3. Something that would ruin him or his ability to operate, enough to piss him off to the point where he wants Shepard dead.
Alternate theory (far less likely), he gets indoctrinated somehow.
I'm sure it'll be explained, anyways, Shepard has already done what TIM intended for him, he has no use, and he probably couldn't control him if he wanted to.
Maybe Cerberus wanted to use the Collector base to be the heroes, and have people join them etc.

I just watched the new Tron, and I think Daft Punk would kind of fit a Mass Effect game.
Also, they didn't say that Legion and whatnot won't be squaddies, they just said they're not sure yet, as the only ones confirmed were Garrus, Liara, Ashley/Kaidan and that Sanders guy. A few of the old squaddies could still join up.
I really hope Udina dies horribly in ME3. He's such a dick. You could have a more pleasant and reasonable argument with Harbinger than him, I think.
