[sp]Standard FTL flight. Realistically, they weren't that far from the Milky Way, or it'd take too long to get back to the galaxy. And it's presumed that it's been several weeks since Shepard attacked the Collectors(if you already beat the game), so that's ample time for an engine so powerful as the Eezo Core in a Reaper.[/sp]

That system is right at the edge of the Galaxy. They use FTL to enter the Galaxy and [sp]use the Alpha Relay to go to where they need to be. My guess would be the citadel. Wipe out the galactic government to create chaos. Old plan, But effective plan[/sp]
