I got 10-50
Frankly I haven't tested it after I got 2GB more RAM and a 460
I think the "low" caliber pistols in LURK are a bit broken, it's not fun to shoot an entire mag of 7.62x25, 9x19 etc. to a rookie stalker wihout him even dying for fucks sake.
But it is fun using the PPsh because it has no recoil and a 71 round drum mag. Only stopped using it once I got an abakan in X18 from a soldier.
I think they're fine though. I used an 9x19 pistol for a while, worked fine.
Doesn't take an entire mag for me, more like 2-3 rounds. At least with 7.62x25
It's time for HOW DRUNK WERE THEY WHEN THEY CAME UP WITH THIS!
Todays subject is db.actor.health and more specifically how you alter it.
db.actor.health is the players health. Its highest value is 1 and is done through decimal values. One would assume you would remove 5 percent of the players health with this:
db.actor.health=db.actor.health-0.05
Guess what, that's not right. You know what is?
db.actor.health=-0.05
That's right, you don't set the players new health, but how much to be added/deducted from it.
HOW DRUNK WERE THEY WHEN THEY CAME UP WITH THIS?!
Actually, that makes sense.
You're removing points from their health, not changing it.

I can't recall seeing something else, or making anything else that behaved like it. It's not like it's completely unpredictable, but you'd think by doing an equals sign you would be setting the players health, not altering it.
For example.
x=1
Now I do x=2
By my logic if I did that x would now be 2, as I set it equal to 2
But by their logic it would be 3
Makes sense to me too. probably makes weapon damage, etc. easier to manage. Also, for the record, i finished vanilla CS, but it was really mediocre. The modding system was shit, guns were worth basically nothing on your end, but you had to pay out the ass for a gun from a trader. ending was........interesting to say the least. i'd say its worth playing to say you played it. I DID like the Clear Sky uniforms though, i thought they looked badass.
The only reason I can see for this is it makes it just a tad faster to type up.

All I remember doing a lot in Clear Sky was defending the stalker base in Agroprom from bandits and then selling their weapons.
I did that for hours.
I guess we just see things differently?
EDIT @ Teh Zip File: yeah, basically. Around the middle of the game i said "fuck it" and ignored the requests for help. same thing happened to me in ShoC where EVERY GODDAMNED TIME I WENT INTO GARBAGE, bandits attacked the stalker base there. EVERY TIME. This happen to anyone else?
I agree with Evan here (SomeFaggot). It is a bit ass-backwards.
One would assume that db.actor.health is the absolute value of the health. If it is at 0.75, then the actor's health is 75%. If it is at 0.25, then the actor's health is at 25%. By extension, if it is -0.05, then the actor's health is at -5%.
It appears however that db.actor.health is actually not the absolute health, but is simply a modifier.
I have a feeling the engine sets db.actor.health to 0 every frame, after every script has run. Before resetting it, though, it takes whatever variable it uses for the actor's actual absolute health and adds db.actor.health to it.
In other words, the load order is like this.
1.) Every script plays
2.) Game engine does this: ACTOR'S REAL HEALTH + db.actor.health
3.) db.actor.health = 0
And it does this every frame.
It's an interesting way to do it, and I agree with Evan that I can sorta see how it'd make it more convenient for them typing it out, but if that's really the way they do it, then it's a horribly inefficient way, since they'd be effectively adding 0 to the actor's health 99% of the time. Of course, they could have a check where it will only do the mathematics if db.actor.health isn't zero, but still.
Maybe we see it so differently from you guys because Evan and I are both scripters and you guys aren't (I am assuming). :v:
You're right, i dont script. I'm just saying it makes sense to me. But, hey, who cares? not like we can change it. Well, maybe you can, i cant.
Why is that thing outside the military outpost in Cordon.

By the way Thorny, are we gonna see some video sometime? Pictures speak a thousand words, but video speaks 30000 words per second.
Thanks guys. Yeah, it's WotW. Videos are something I'm thinking of!
Maybe I can help out. I've been making Machinima for a few years now :)
