It works just fine with multi-core systems from my experience
It's not multithreaded though so if your cores are seriously underpowered you'll see a performance hit
Well gmod4ever or whoever it was started making English to the People, but he didn't update it that much and it only did the encyclopedia and artifact descriptions. When I tried it, it also broke the encyclopedia and artifact descriptions. :v:
And where is he now? I'll tell you. He has become one with the soup.
I'll be upgrading to an i5 soon, I've heard that SoC doesn't work too well on multi-core cards apparently? Any fixes Facepunch?
It works fine on my i5-2400.

I think I might start a new game with SMP 2.4. LURK got boring in Yantar.
I want a mod that adds lots of stuff but I don't want to play People Soup because I don't feel like buying more RAM. The SMP 2.4 on Blaberry's FTP is the lite version right?
Oh OK good, I was a bit worried there for a moment.
I feel like a pussy right now. i want to finish CoP with pripyatan, but i just KNOW I'm gonna be sitting there for hours trying to beat it. hell, it was difficult in vanilla on stalker difficulty. now? its gonna be fucking impossible. by the end im gonna end up cutting myself.

I was doing a playthrough and my save ended up corrupted. I was filming with fraps and posting them on youtube too.
ooooooh. uh............ i feel better if that was the intent. now i feel bad for you though.
I have a real quick question, as I'm still having a bit of trouble trying to get my game to work. I'll keep at it though.
Anyways, whats the difference between AMK 1.4.7 and AMK: Sidorovich edition?
And whats the difference between SGM and SGM blackbyte edition? :v:

Argh, thats what I thought. But I never got SMP to work for me, it was always slow as fuck and crashed alot
Who here has played Codename Outbreak?
AMK vs AMK SE and SGM vs SGM-B are the same, more content and some differences in the feeling of it.
Also more crashes.
ABC is a mod that teaches you the alphabet :buddy:
Still can see anything in dooms mod
that happens when you uninstall lurk.
if you have it in steam, then it's in /common/stalker/_appdata_

I did. :3:
I did. :3:
I thought I was the only one. I wonder if this makes us better Stalkers because we've been with GSC since before Stalker
You were with GSC before they were popular.
Oh wait, they still aren't popular.

I dunno, but I remember the game was really hyped up where I come from. I was actually pretty young when I played it. I never came far in this game, because I found it pretty hard and I was really freaked out by the atmosphere the game had. Those facehugger like things, that attached themselves to the back of their victims head scared the shit out of me. :<

Come to think of it, doesn't that suit design remind you of something?
:woop:
A friend from work loaned me his copy of ShoC. Installing it now.
Come to think of it, doesn't that suit design remind you of something?
It looks like the very early designs for the spetsnaz troopers in ShoC. You know, the "space marine" variant from the earliest builds.
I remember vaguely playing this at a gameshow or something. I was kind of impressed with the large-ish maps and everything but I didn't know that it was GSC's handiwork. Now I'm kind of tempted to ask a friend of mine if he could borrow his copy assuming he still has it..
Should I get SoC, Clear sky or Call of Pripyat?
[editline]28th April 2011[/editline]
Whichever one has the most content/ largest area to explore.
You should get both SoC and Call of Pripyat. CoP has the largest areas but it doesn't have a lot of the areas that SoC has and while the areas in Shadow of Chernobyl are indeed smaller some of them are more atmospheric than some of the CoP environments. Plus you'll never get to explore the NPP itself in CoP.
Should I get SoC, Clear sky or Call of Pripyat?

Yeah that game scared me a lot too. I watched my dad play it all the time though.

More crashes you say? I'll just stick with trying to get the original AMK to work then.

or maybe not

AMK:SE is just AMK with all the options enabled and English translations though.
Attack the military outpost to the south of the rookie village.
Holy fuck I just did that I'm going to be rich holy fuck.
Wait, you actually survived?! I thought he was just trolling you. Did you die at all?
Wait, you actually survived?! I thought he was just trolling you. Did you die at all?
I ran toward the base, realised how many there were, and once again though "fuck that shit!" and ran back to the rookie camp,
but they followed me there. Cue 20 minutes of taking a shot or two every 10 seconds and EVERYBODY in the rookie camp
bunched up by a fence destroying at whoever dare approach the camp until I finally stood triumphant and a little guilty at my
accidental exploit.

It is night now. I refuse to go anywhere due to the giant piles of oatmeal that roam the surrounding area.
Thank god for that guy who does nothing productive except play guitar.
Heh. guitar guy. hes there for a reason i suppose. i just dont know what that reason is besides playing his guitar.
