I always wanted to see some COOLING TOWERS
Seeing the two unfinished reactor sites will probably be interesting.
Seeing the two unfinished reactor sites will probably be interesting.
Yes they would, I was just poking fun at the trailer
Here I was thinking you guys would appreciate a film showing previously unshown parts of the Zone :colbert:
It was fine, just repetitive.
Yes they would, I was just poking fun at the trailer
I tought it was obvious everyone already did. But it does sound like a good documentary, just that the trailer is way too... unusual for something that's a documentary.
People Soup is overated. I don't like how much of a clusterfuck it is. I'll stick with AMK. AMK has great translations. :v:
People Soup is shitty to be honest
For me People Soup is a "How good of a stalker are you" test. It's got it's own problems, like botched trading system and some stuff that is extremely nonsensical, like the invisible exosuit stalkers.
How good of a Stalker are you, now with 2+ minute loading times and DOORS THAT DON"T FUCKING OPEN
How good of a Stalker are you, now with 2+ minute loading times and DOORS THAT DON"T FUCKING OPEN
So Stalker normally. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] That's what's I hate about STALKER. If you die, fucking boil the kettle.
Uh, Stalker takes me like 10-20 seconds. Peoplesoup is 1 minute. :v: [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] 1-2 minutes to be techincal

Wrote a stalker story, you could say it was inspired by Paravin and Crisis. Stalkers and Stalkerettes, I present you: THE SWAMP BLOODSUCKER It was a dark night. The rain just started, and it soon became impossible to traverse the swamps. A group of stalkers has taken cover inside a small boathouse at the very edge of the swamps to hide from the rain, mutants, and the unwanted attention from the Military patrols. There were five of them. A rookie, equipped with nothing but a can of food, a makarov and a leather jacket. A defected grunt, outfitted with standard military equipment and a kalashnikov rifle. An expirienced loner, the average type that stalkers can find in The Garbage. A Duty sargent, who was just granted a free weekend and felt like going on a free adventure while showing off his expirience from Duty to the other stalkers. And there was an independant mercenary, coated in a black trench coat, carrying a gas mask on his face and constantly clenching his AS VAL in his arms. The group of five quickly checked what's inside the place. Nothing special, a few boxes filled with rusty fishing equipment and shelves that were emptied long ago. In the center of the room there was a barrel loaded with wood, it seemed like it was used as a fireplace. "Who puts a fireplace in a boathouse?" Proclaimed the rookie. "Would you rather want it to sink in quicksand?" The Dutyer responded. The grunt turned around and said "Bah, I've seen worse. Ever tried starting a fire in Agroprom Underground? The whole place gets filled with smoke." "Ah well." The rookie shrugged and sat down. The grunt got over to the barrel and tried to start a fire in it as the group sat down all around it. The matches were extinguished by the wind that was blowing through the rotten boathouse as the grunt was lighting them up. After cursing several times, the merc got over to him and put something in his hand. It resembled a firecracker. "Use this." The merc muffled through his gasmask. The grunt nodded and swiped it across the matchbox, litting it up. He tossed it into the barrel, and after a loud bang a fire was started inside it. Everyone sighed as they were relived that at least something will keep them warm throughout the night. "So what is that thing?" The grunt asked. "Something that the bandits use to suprise the stalkers that travel along the main road in the Dark Valley. I find it as a handy firestarter." Said the merc. The Dutyer slapped his hands, sighed and looked at all the other stalkers in the boathouse. He had a rather bored look on his face, it seemed like he was ready to leave and do something in the swamps on his own. "So... anyone knows any good stories?" The rookie asks, hoping that he didn't sound awkward. The Dutyer laughed and then said "If you want bedtime stories it's best you just call your mother. But stalker stories, now that's my turf!" The loner made a smug expression and responded. "Oh yea, what's so special about Duty stories?" "Well, there's this one time my squad tried to kill a Pseudogiant in Wild Territory. As soon as we got there we could realize that thing was an Alpha Pseudogiant, and those don't go down that easily. The twelve of us tried everything: rifles, shotguns, grenades, rockets, land mines, but the damn thing was like an American Tank, It just wouldn't die!" The merc muffled something behind his gas mask. "Those things actually exist? I've known of Alpha Bloodsuckers and Alpha Chimeras, but weren't Alpha Pseudogiants just bedtime stories?!" The Dutyer glanced at the merc, raised his eyebrow and responded. "No, those things are actually real! There's maybe two or three of them in the entire Zone, but they hang out in the roughest of areas!" The loner cut the conversation that was started between the two and asked "So, you gonna resume with the story, mister hotshot?" "Anyways, We ran out of ammunition and tought of giving up when suddenly lieutenant Bandicoot ran out of cover and started punching the thing into the face! It went on for an hour or two before the thing finally died while the lieutenant was standing on top of it and yelling like Tarzan! Man, you should have seen that!" "Did he got boxing gloves as a reward?" The rookie asked and smirked. "Nah, we all got fifty thousand rubles and AN-94's as a reward." Responded the Dutyer. The Loner glanced at the window for a moment, then looked back at the group. "Anyone got more stories to tell?" "I have one." Said the Mercenary. Everyone looked at him with the expression that you'd expect only a kid who heard of an awesome story would make. "What is it?" Asked the Dutyer. The merc let go of his AS VAL and crossed his arms. "Best you all get a bottle of vodka, this is gonna be a big shocker for you all." The Loner started passing around several bottles of Cossacks he brought from Sidorovich a day before they embarked on this journey through The Swamps. Everyone was already drunk when the Merc started telling the story. "This one time I was going around through these swamps to find an old cache who's location data I got from a guy for who I ran errands. It was around the time when Clear Sky purged the Renegades out of the swamp, so the swamps were mostly safe to traverse for people that knew them, people like myself. It was a dark night and I was travelling alone, I didn't want any attention from the faction. Or from the helicopter patrols. As I was traveling down the road that led to the Old Church I saw something moving in the bushes next to me. I quickly readied my AS VAL and fired a few bullets into the bushes, when I heard something drop down." "What was it?" Said the drunken grunt, leaning over as he was waving his hand at the Merc. "A bloodsucker." The Merc responded. The loner laughed, and as soon as he stopped laughing he started picking on the Merc. "But that's just a stupid bloodsucker story! Every real stalker saw a bloodsucker at least... one... two... or maybe three times... these are so boring!" "Prepare for the shocker." Said the Merc. Everyone went silent and looked at him. "It was still alive, and I felt like I wanted to have some fun. I ran over to the wounded bloodsucker, who was laying down face first in the mud, and I readied my knife so I can cut off it's tentacles while it was alive." The Loner now started waving his index finger at the merc. "Oh Oh, I know the ending! And he ran around like an idiot... then Clear Sky sniped him!" He shouted while trying to sit in an upright position. "No, you see," Continued the Merc "I flipped it around and just as I was about to cut off it's tentacles I realized something: It was a female bloodsucker." Everyone went silent once again and stared at the Merc. The Dutyer stared down on the floor and looked rather suprised, and after a few moments he said "And what happened next?" "I fucked her in the ass." There was a lot of puke stains in the boathouse next morning.
Actually loading times have more to do with hard drive speeds. RAM has read/write times between 10-20 gigs per second, mechanical hard drives are usually around 100mb/s. If you want fast loading, get an SSD.
