Look, there's a wild pokemon! It seems to be dead though. :saddowns:
oh wow And it seems like you started to use the Mossberg anyway, heh
Look, there's a wild pokemon! It seems to be dead though. :saddowns:
It's chillin' [editline]1st May 2011[/editline]
oh wow And it seems like you started to use the Mossberg anyway, heh
That was when I was trying it out, the spread of buckshot is so fucking idiotic it makes the shotgun useless at ranges over 5 meters. And hitting something with the slugs is impossible at ranges over 10 meters. Yay.
Look, there's a wild pokemon! It seems to be dead though. :saddowns:
Is it a snorsk?
No way, man. I snipe with buckshot all day every day.
No way, man. I snipe with buckshot all day every day.
casuals :colbert: broken down makarovs are the best snipers.
casuals :colbert: broken down makarovs are the best snipers.
Pfft. A real man's sniper is a knife.
I just bought SoC. Any tips? Never played a Stalker game before.
I just bought SoC. Any tips? Never played a Stalker game before.
Play Vanilla.
Do you guys even know how many times we've had this argument? In the end, the most hardcore weapons are the metal boxes that contain supplies. Yes. See, you can break them by jumping on them. Then you carry the piece to a high location and drop it on the head of a bandit.
I've played Codename Outbreak :v:
I borrowed it from my friend today but it doesn't work on my new computer :ohdear: . Eh, I'll try my old laptop, maybe it'll work in that. I don't really like playing on my laptop because of the small screen and it tends to heat up. Is the game any good ?
I just bought SoC. Any tips? Never played a Stalker game before.
-Watch your carry limit! This isn't such an issue in the first map but if you carry too much stuff it'll weigh you down and may cost you your life in situations where you'll have to run for your life. Don't hoard those crap condition shotguns and makarovs after the first level, the traders won't pay very well for those and all they do is weigh you down. - Watch your flanks during firefights. Enemies have a nasty way of pinning you down while their buddies come around the corner to snipe you in the head. -Peek around corners to take shots. Never stand around in the open. If there are mutants around, always scan the environment for rocks/objects to jump on if the mutants become aggressive. -Enemies will spot you easier in the darkness if you have your flashlight on. -Don't engage dogs with the starting pistol(s). They're weak as piss and they're too fast for rookies to headshot reliably. Besides, they hang out in packs so even if you down one the others will chew you up before you get a chance to reload. The double barrel shotgun packs a decent punch and is the first good "mutant killer" weapon you get. -Remember : short, controlled bursts to the neck/head area when using weapons capable of full auto fire. The first weapons are pretty inaccurate so trying to snipe with them doesn't bring good results. -The military grunts have too much armour on them you can't really hurt them with body shots from the weaker (9x18, 9x19) guns but the shotgun tears their shit apart from close range. -The secondary attack of the knife is better than the first pistol. You should lure the enemy to come through a doorway and stab them when they poke their head out. * Oh yeah, and take time to explore the areas and whenever you get a stash info in the first two areas you should pick them up. Later on they aren't mostly that great but early on they can be a godsend. Exploring areas thoroughly is definitely worth it, especially in the beginning.
I just bought SoC. Any tips? Never played a Stalker game before.
In the beginning of the game you must conserve as much as possible, as proper equipment is scarce as it is. Don't run and gun (You'll get to do that later in the game, I promise.)
Am I the only one who thinks that the games in the Stalker series are worlds better than all of these triple A titles that come out all the time now. (I.E. COD, Halo)
Am I the only one who thinks that the games in the Stalker series are worlds better than all of these triple A titles that come out all the time now. (I.E. COD, Halo)
I totally agree.
This is the small cluster of people who think that :v:

Stalker is one of my favorite game series, can't think of many games that come close to it. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] Stalker actually has many flaws, but it's atmosphere is a giant sales point. The unforgivingness of is also, in a weird way, what makes it great.
Care was taken to make this game have good content. Games now are all about getting it released with a good trailer so they can make xbox'ers pay £40 for it.
I have to think they're going to do that for STALKER 2 or else the sales for the xbox will fail.
Good content and a good trailer then.
Also, disabled SGM anomalies and got 20+fps gain And, oh man, alpha squads. I got attacked by 3 at once, seriously 3 at once. Blew up half of one squad with an RPG and then two more come around my flank. I kept getting fucked up every time I re-spawned so I turned it down to rookie. For some reason, rookie makes you invincible or something, I couldn't die at all. Oh by the way, I wouldn't of enabled rookie had I not had a shitty AK and a bandit suit

Thanks for the tips, still got about 25 minutes 'till it's downloaded. Looking forward to it.
Also, the game will frustrate you, but this is what makes the game great. Also don't think I've seen this here but, QUICKSAVE!
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/iEpc1.jpg[/img_thumb]
Reminds me of the knife in HL2: Jaykin Bacon Source. Best weapon.
Especially when you kill yourself with it somehow
