S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread - We have death during loading - does Minecraft? - Games

Hello STALKERS! I've realized I haven't posted in this thread for a while, mostly in due part to the fact I'm on an old Pentium 4 pc again. But I'm currently in the process of ordering a new Sandy Bridge rig. In anticipation could someone tell me where to find NLC and the latest translation? The one I have is from nov-10

I'm not playing for a while, to then come back to the series in a few weeks, full of new enthusiasm, just like the first time I played SoC. First time feelings of stalker. OH WOW. Also going to install russian version of stalker and pray to the monolith to make LWR work.

So what is this big deal about sandy bridge? I haven't been keeping too up to date in the latest of technology.

It's very overclockable.

Hey, So my shadows are on dynamic on objects only and my detail is on low, and I STILL have monster lag. Especially on that first boat in zaton. Wat do?

Areas with lots of NPCs stutter like hell for everyone, and occasionally stutter is to be expected on max settings on mid-end systems like mine. But if you get <15FPS on areas with no a lot of NPC activity, then it's probably a problem with your PC, video card or RAM.

And how do I check my FPS? Console command?

Got my new rig up and running, currently posting from a 1920x1080 screen :c00l: The only bad thing is that since the motherboard doesn't have wireless intergrated, and the card I usually use doesn't have any 64-bit driver, I have to use mobile broadband until I can come up with another solution. The router is downstairs too.

Then I'll be free to enjoy my lust for the stalker experience for as long as I want.

Any of you guys see the trailer for that Alone In the Zone film? I would love to have it but there is no way I'm spending that much money on it, overpriced imo. As someone in the thread put it's, "Any Stalker fans wet dream"

It's 83F in my room right now. The ac is broke, and if I played Stalker my pc would explode... This summer is gonna be fun

I've fried a few video cards by playing them in 90F heat. Stalker shouldn't be too taxing though, I've never had a problem with it.

I know how my card gets with CoP and its about 78C with this heat, but then the room gets unbearably hot.

My 8800GT used to handle heat like a boss. My 5850 has never gone above 60c though. :v: [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] I'll probably have to turn the fan up in the summer.

It can get pretty hot in an Australian summer and I don't even want to look at how hot the card gets. Have had a graphics card pretty much explode and a processor just die from the ambient heat in the middle of summer.

Is your 5850 a non-reference because that's amazing, and my room traps all the heat so opening a window makes no difference. Damn you Nvidia to hell!

I just realized that I've been playing LURK without the UI... I forgot to install it and I thought that without the UI was how it was supposed to be. I kinda like it tho, I'm keeping it :colbert:

I just played SoC without a HUD or crosshairs or anything like that. It actually got significantly harder as I had to press I every 5 seconds to see my health from the inventory. And every time I open any kind of menu the AI rushes in like there is no tomorrow. X-18 next :ohdear:
