I've come to think it's deliberate, so that you can't stay in X16 for too long.

Also, I gave a bunch of stuff to Turbo, but he doesn't take the 10 batteries I found. Are they ammo for the gauss gun or something?

Well, so I guess there are guys with gauss guns in the second area. Pripyat ramps the difficulty up so much faster than Chernobyl did.

I just beat Shadow of Chernobyl (got the good ending for the first time ever). Replay with shitloads of mods or start on Clear Sky?

Play Clear Sky, throw on Shaders Max Clear Sky and Sky reclamation project though. Clear Sky is easily the worst game in the STALKER franchise but its still has some good moments. After Clear Sky play Call of Pripyat and than go back to STALKER SoC with a shitload of mods.
EDIT: I should mention, when/if you get around to CoP make sure you focus on side quests and shit. My favorite CoP moments are completely irrelevant to the main story.

Sounds good, I know it's the worst, after playing Shadow of Chernobyl way back I bought it right when it came out. Do I update it to the newest version or is there a specific one that I should to stick to for mods?
Iirc, spartan 11:11 requires some specific version, but TFW and complete is on the latest patch.

Trying to add the Max shaders tells me I need a video card with pixel shaders 1.1 or higher. I have a 6850, anyone know why this happens?

I don't like it how unoptimized Atmosfear is for me. It just drags like a slideshow at any setting.
