As long as you've played vanilla, amk and perhaps lurk. It's not really a mod to start out with, for the best experience.
Do you think you have seen horror mode in ABC? You have not seen horror mode in ABC. And you do not want to see horror mode in ABC. Believe me.
Ahh I remember when I was being chased by five bloodsuckers in Dark Valley then fucking horror mode went into motion. It was a long fight that ended up with me stabbing a great many zombie to death. Hell whatever happened to ABC? I loved making portals in that mod.
I haven't even heard of the development, it just appeared to me. Perhaps there's a thread on it on the gsc forums. Also if you want to download it, it's on the FTP. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Some digging got me to this:
Also, hasn't People Soup been out for a while? what's with all the excitement now? EDIT: Oh, jeez, looks like I'm gonna have to bust out Tortoise SVN for PS, am I right? Haven't used it for at least two years. EDIT AGAIN: Nevermind, doesn't look like it.
I hope everyone's oka--- [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560905110024896995/34803DC5035559E0B677D8F61FF02488EA9C9671/[/img_thumb] :byodood:
All he needs is a beard and Boom. Al Borland I really wish Stalker Complete had some weapons like People Soup or AMK
Yes, I played it last year, even. Then someone found a download with DMX dkz preinstalled(I don't think it was me who found it, might be wrong though) So I started downloading all the parts, uploaded them to my own server and it just seems that lots of people have wanted to play it. I'm only happy to be able to help.

ABC was the first SoC mod I ever played. :buddy: [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] I remember doing this in it: That was fun.
will I need a cd-crack to play people soup? Because that crash report mentions missing a file that is on my cd-drive, but I have the steam version. what do?
I appear to have hit a crash bug in the soup. STALKER jumps into a fruit punch whenever I try to [sp]give the emerald quirk or whatever it is to the guy guarding the duty base[/sp]
Should i get People Soup? Playing a Freeplay mod right now, the one Sgt. Doom made iirc.
will I need a cd-crack to play people soup? Because that crash report mentions missing a file that is on my cd-drive, but I have the steam version. what do?
The hispano patcher file on the repo has cracks for all versions. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Matter of fact, I'm going to fix that archive, since I messed up a bit when I first made it. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Got a new archive, much better structured. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Better archive is uploaded!
I went back to the ATP, killed three BTRs and all I got was a special M16A2 with an artifact in it. (And a horrible texture) I don't think that's worth the 50k rubles it took to buy the super special sniper rifle that I didn't even use.

How the hell do I extract the SOUP, and what version is it for?
with 7zip, it's supposed to work with both 1.0004 and 1.0005.
Hey so I'm kinda a huge wuss when it comes to scary video games... but a lot of stuff about the stalker series seems really awesome (namely the exploration). Someone said COP was the best for exploration, so I was going to try that one first. Is that okay? Or do they need to be played in order or something? Also, how scary is it? I've played through Amnesia, but with a friend. How is it compared to that? Is there a lot of cheap scares where shit pops out at you?
Those are pretty awesome, do you happen to have a link to them?
Here they are. :)
Play ShoC first, IMO. It's considered the best of the games, even if it's not as open as CoP, you can still explore quite fine. It's not really supposed to be a horror game, but there are some parts that get pretty creepy (i.e. the labs). Oh, and PLAY VANILLA FIRST [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] BTW, am I an idiot for not being able to get 7zip to work? When I try to open people soup it just says "unspecified error".
Only music anyone would be allowed to listen to while playing STALKER is MoozE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=592odhtCruQ
NOPE. Basically anything by these guys.
Actually, the People Soup DMX mod is far diffrent from your regular Soup.
Care to explain?

The only places you might be scared by are the underground sections you go through at some parts of the game. Stalker is more about the atmosphere than cheap "boo I'm a monster jumping out at you!" scares. Personally I would suggest playing Shadow of Chernobyl first and then playing Call of Pripyat. This is for a multitude of reasons, primarily that it's largely considered by many (including myself) to be the best in the series but also because chronologically ShoC is set before CoP so it would make more sense story wise to play ShoC first, though if you're not too bothered about story then I guess you could disregard that if you wanted.
"So a squad of Dutyers are cleaning up a minefield. The guy in front is is probing the ground with an old minesweeper, and the guy behind him is following up with a bundle of wooden stakes to mark them. The other three guys are armed with shovels and assault rifles. As they're working, the guy with the sweeper finds something big. He dosn't know what it is, so he calls the stake-man over. 'Check this out. The readings are off the graph!' 'So?' 'So there's obviously something there. Something big and metal.' They argue over what to do. The sweeper is all for telling the Major in charge of the operation, the marker just wants to keep moving, get the job over with. The sweeper, being the squad leader, wins out. When the Major hears the report, he says something along the lines of: 'You're bothering me over what could well be an underground tank. I don't have time for this. Just dig it up and get back to work.' So they clear the area around the object, then send for another squad to help dig it up. When they do that, they find that, as the Majore predicted, it's a large metal tank. As they're lifting it out of the hole, however, they hear a swishing sound from inside it. 'Sounds like there's some sort of liquid in there.' 'What do you think? Fuel? Water? We can always use both.' 'Let's check.' So they crack open the lid. The moment they do, they're hit by the smell that every Stalker loves. 'Vodka! Liters upon Liters of Vodka!' Predictably, they decide that a taste test must be done before informing the Major of their find. When they finish, they decide that they aren't quite sure of the Vodka's quality yet, and taste it again. They carry on in this fashion untill they're completely drunk out of their wits, staggering and puking all over the place. Now they were gone so long that the Major started wondering what was going on. He sends a third squad over, and they arrive to find the team shooting at passing crows, singing their heads off, and generally having a drunken good time. The third squad joins them. By this time, the Major is thoroughly worried. Something has obviously happened to the sweeper team as well as the squad he sent to investigate. He alerts Skull and his team. They gather together a bunch of the more rank and file troops to act as backup, and set off for the team's last reported location. When they get there, they discover that, not only are is the sweeper team completely useless, they've also drunk over half the container."
Can weapons be silenced? I love stealthing through games like this.
Can weapons be silenced? I love stealthing through games like this.
Yes.
Yes.
Woo! :woop:
So I reinstalled sgm,was enjoying a nice stroll when suddenly I heard a loud hiss. I turned slightly to my right THERES SIX OF THOSE PRICKS. ALL WITH RPGS.
Can someone help me figure out why I can't talk to people like Wolf and Sid for their usual side missions and why I can't talk to the new "traders" in People Soup + DMX? I'm on version 1.0004 and I did install everything correctly. I would post a crash, but it just reports that XR_3DA.exe crashed. No actual error. Any clues?
I had that problem. Either patching to 1.0005 fixed it or actually using the bin folder that came with the mod fixed it.
