I thought Forgotten Forest was pretty boring. After you killed the mutant all you had was a very ugly forest.

If not, shame on you. It's one of the most important rules of the soup, right next to "use silencers" and "lean": Always carry a shotgun. Seriously, with a TOZ, let him get close enough and then just unload both barrels into him. Should kill him pretty fucking fast. Alternately, you can do what I did with the first bloodsucker and just launch a fucking launcher grenade at him, but that's assuming you have a launcher attachment and grenade.

God damn it please someone put people soup up for torrent, I was downloading all the parts and all of a sudden they just completely stopped.

Do you want to know how long it took me to download them from the french repo they are originally hosted on? After constantly downloading and redownloading parts for a week, I managed to get every single one. Then server went offline. Then the link to the patch was broken. Then I managed to download that after five retries. You having to start over on a few parts and whine for a torrent is just plain silly. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] And yes, I had to restart the ftp daemon due to some changes I did.

Oh man I just got told. I guess I'll just play CoP in the mean time. ...and thanks for not having a shitty server or what not, I remember downloading LURK when it first came out for hours and hours.

Oh the server is an old 1.8ghz single core processor assisted by 2 gigs of slo-mo ram, it's the connection that does most of the work :v: [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] The same computer is also running my website and a minecraft server on which around 10 people play. Yes, bringing the processor down with a DDoS attack would take about two two computers on separate connections. :v:

I work alone is such a hardcore mod, if you die the game itself crashes.

Does anyone actually like the Gauss rifle? Sci-fi weapons can be interesting but I'm seriously underwhelmed by its look and feel. For a weapon with high stopping power, negigible drop, extremely high velocity and no recoil, it's just not very enjoyable to shoot. Maybe its laser accuracy takes all the fun out of it. I'd rather take an SVD anyday. :frog:

Why can I not extract all of these files with 7-zip or winrar? I keep getting an unspecified error.

Doesn't that happen when the files aren't done? Also you need all parts to extract the contents.

They're all done ( they're all the same size excluding pacage 14 ) and I have all of the parts in a folder. [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] So it was all because of the (2) in some of the file names... cool.

It's always the small parts that me miss, ain't it? Had a configuration file in php that b0rked everything, sat and wrote workarounds for days until I noticed the permissions for the file were set to 600 instead of 755. Half a week of work for a single, stupid mislabeling. I know why they call it people soup: You download the mod for X number of hours, you extract it, you copy paste everything to the right folders and then you launch it but it crashes before the nvidia intro happens. So you get so mad that you go all the way to russia and kill the people who made the mod, and then turn them into soup. People Soup!
