But you guys get to vote what faction I will play as.
Loners.Or freedom.
My version of Doom's mod is only at 041
What's a good alternative to DMX? I can't run it at all.
Regular soup if you can get over the horrible translations.
How is it?
Well, since I got into the closed beta it improved a lot. They optimized it a lot, but it's still really rough around the edges. And it's really hard to get into. It's so fucking hard to find artifacts and the weapons and armors cost a lot. The quests are nothing special as of now, just stuff like "collect X amount of Y", but they will put in more unique quests.
The variety of monsters became wider, they all look actually pretty cool. I haven't encountered most of them though.
It would be awesome to raid the Zone with a few FacePunchers. :(
Can you play in first person?
Not yet, but the devs promised that it will be possible.

Stalker Online. <3 I hope, they'll release an international version soon. :(
Wait, what the hell is this? More info, please?
That outfit in the stalker online picture is what I'd actually expect to see in the Zone instead of weird looking clown shoe outfits with baby shit camo that everyone wears for some reason
:golfclap:
The SGM theme is so fuckin addictive. anyone know the lirycs ?

Is anyone experiencing obscenely long load times with Sgt. Doom's mod? It seems really cool but it is somewhat annoying waiting 20 minutes to get in game....

Alright so I'm in vanilla SoC, Barkeep gave me a mission to go clear out all the mercs and bandits in Rostok. I did this, but it doesn't show up as completed? I scoured the entire area, I can confirm I killed every single human there except for the Dutyers at the beginning. Also the purple mission marker thingy points to nothing, and talking to the Dutyers just gives stock "I'm not up to date on the news" responses.
Is the mission bugged or what?
So i tried to mod my weight limit and now my game is crashing. Never happened before. I assume it's because Sgt. Doom's mod is using some aspects of Lurk and Lurk isn't happy when you try to change the weight limit.
Here is the error
Expression : fatal error
Function : CInifile::r_section
File : E:\stalker\sources\trunk\xrCore\Xr_ini.cpp
Line : 342
Description : <no expression>
Arguments : Can't open section 'mattress'
is it just me or does CoP get boring after the first playthrough
i mean hell yeah it was totally awesome the first time but idk i just wasn't feeling it when i played through for a second time
This happens when I enter the garbage from the cordon when trying to give the barkeep the docs from X18. It stutters a bit, then crashes(AMK:SE)

It shouldn't happen, I changed the weight limit as well.
.
Had this happen to me plenty of times, don't know of a fix.

Yeah, Call of Pripyat suffers a lot because it's quests are less combat-oriented and when you know p. much everything that is going to happen it isn't all that exciting. Plus the areas lack the danger that was constantly present in ShoC. Especially when you're venturing deep in the Zone like Pripyat, it's a looong way to the nearest trader and supplies are a lot more scarce.
In Call of Pripyat good stuff is basically thrown at you and you'll have a shitload of gear with nothing to use it on. All you really face is zombies and mutants, all of which have idle sounds that can be heard miles away so you can't really be truly ambushed by them.
You don't have enemy faction bases that would re-spawn or come after you and rape shit dead like the military occasionally does in Shadow of Chernobyl.
After good mods started appearing for Call of Pripyat I learned to appreciate some of the design decisions in Call of Pripyat but some of the stuff still grinds my gears from time to time.

Ooo you have the same CPU as I do, so I have no idea why the long loading times, try re-installing the mod or the game.
Okay, i'll try that.
So for the few of you who go to the FTP through my website, you might be glad to see I've made it a bit more stylish and less plain. Won't work in IE though, because it is a piece of shit.

A thought I have had reoccurring in my mind is to make a stalker-mode in CSS.

I can help with some graphics if you like.
Oh and I have £435 (709.61 US$) In my wallet and I will be getting another 50 soon, and I might return my headset by inadvertently making them faulty and giving them back to PCworld.
Basically I have

If you were thinking graphics as in pictures, then no, I don't use pictures.

I was thinking more buttons.
Ah, well, I'm thinking of adding shadows to them or something, seeing as I'm pretty much happy with them otherwise.
So guys, I just woke up from the most amazing dream ever. Yes, it was a STALKER dream (:v:). And yes, it took place with People Soup installed.
It featured full-fledged faction warfare. The ideas presented in the dream itself weren't that great, but I was able to flesh them out to be awesome. In my dream, I was running around in the Garbage when I found a Loner that was on the ground. I gave him a medkit and he went on his merry way. As I started to approach the Duty checkpoint, however, the Duty guys suddenly became hostile and started shooting at me. I ran away and hid, and checked my PDA. In my dream, it showed a little "battle marker" thing next to some Duty outpost that doesn't actually exist in the game (:v:). Apparently the Loners were attacking the Duty outpost and winning, which made my faction with Duty (since you default to a Loner) go down to hostility. Just so happens fat-face Tollik was leading the raid, too. I knew I shouldn't of saved his fat ass.
The dream, however, did give me a pretty good idea for faction warfare. Basically, each faction has its own central point and aggressiveness level. For example, Loners and Mercenaries have a pretty low aggression level, the Ecologists have none whatsoever, and Freedom, Duty, and Monolith are all extremely aggressive. The aggression level dictates how hard they push out.
All the levels are linked radially, from a script standpoint. IE, from the Bar, the Dutiers have to go into either the Garbage or Rostok (and any other area the Bar is connected to). Once they have a firm holding in these locations, they can continue to spread.
Each faction also has a "strength" level, which basically refers to their armor/weapon level. Loners, for example, have a low strength rating, while the Monolith have a high strength rating. This strength level, in combination with their aggression level and their "numbers" level, which dictates how many soldiers they have, determines the factional warfare.
Within each level there are various checkpoints to be won. For example, within the Garbage, Dutiers coming from the Bar first have to establish victory in the Bar Checkpoint, the Warehouse, and the Carpark, before they can move onto the Cordon.
I was also thinking relations between the factions can change by way of random events, such as stealing, murder, bailing out on trades, and such like that, which would be broadcasted via the in-game message system. When places are currently under siege, the player would also be notified when the war begins (saying who is fighting) and when the battle ends (saying who won), that way players can avoid the warzone if they wish (which is a good idea if one of the factions don't like you).
I was also thinking you can talk to any of the Traders (Sid, Barkeep, et all) and ask them about faction relationships. You then pick a faction you want to know about, and the Trader will tell you that faction's relation to all other factions (Neutral, Friendly, Hostile) and their current positions and strengths in those positions.
I think it'd be pretty neat. Kinda like the faction warfare in Call of Pripyat and Clear Sky, but completely independent of the player and more dynamic. What do you guys think, though?

What with seeing all these issues people are having trying to extract People Soup, I'm half-tempted to create a torrent of the unextracted mod. It'd be the version I have, which is People Soup + DMX.
If I were to do so, which would require me looking up how to make a torrent, would anyone here seed it? I would only be able to seed it periodically throughout the day.
Just curious if anyone even cares about these. The torrent one got two hearts, but unfortunately that doesn't really answer the question of "will anyone seed"
Don't want to seem like an attention whore or anything, but I don't post these ideas just to be ignored; I'd like at least some feedback, even if its a resounding "no it's a stupid idea you should go die you worthless piece of shit." Thanks. :v:
