The Army Warehouses is horrible in People Soup. I get 2-3 second long stutters every other second, sometimes even freezing for like 10 seconds. That made it kind of hard to take on the five chimeras that spawn after you get the crazy guy's flash drive... I think this is the only thing that's ever made me consider getting more RAM. I should order two 2 gig sticks so I can have 8 gigs. That would only cost $50...
And you wouldn't get any benefit of it.
Seeing as how People Soup uses 3.8 gigs of my 4 and everyone who has 8 gigs of RAM can load maps in 30 seconds (Takes me 2-4 minutes) and runs it fine, I think it would.
I'm so tempted to try people soup, but I only ave 2 gigs of ram.
Woke up late for school. Taking Paravins Day Off, only without a red convertible and two friends.
So I'm about to finish my L.U.R.K playthrough. I'm using a SEVA suit with a shotgun and a P90. Should I stick to a long range weapon for the final battle with Monolith or will I be fine with the P90?
Is anyone experiencing obscenely long load times with Sgt. Doom's mod? It seems really cool but it is somewhat annoying waiting 20 minutes to get in game....
Anybody have some kind of solution? Or am I doomed to never play Sgt. Doom's mod?
Lower your texture settings. If you still get that crash, switch to static lighting if you aren't already. You need more memory.
Just confirmed it, I ran everything at it's lowest at 800x600 and I still get
Expression : data Function : CVirtualFileReader::CVirtualFileReader File : E:\stalker\sources\trunk\xrCore\FS.cpp Line : 462 Description : c:\program files\thq\s.t.a.l.k.e.r. - shadow of chernobyl\gamedata\textures\ui\ui_icon_equipment.dds Arguments : Not enough storage is available to process this command.
Oblivion Lost 2010 is where it's at... So much shit it isn't funny
Another mod were the developers don't even bother asking me for permission to use my files. Not that it is a problem or anything, just courtesy would be nice :3:
And if you are on steam add -mblur to the launch options, if not right click your SoC shortcut and add -mblur after the " at the end.
I am assuming you are using my shader mod, if so you can force enable motion blur in the ShaderSettings.txt file.
So after playing People Soup for awhile now, I can say that LURK is still my favorite mod for SoC. Sure it has some bugs, but really they're only minor ones. People Soup is without a doubt amazing, but it just doesn't feel complete. There is a different atmosphere I get from LURK that no other mod can give, so...basically I'm saying thanks to those who worked on it. I never did say it before.
People Soup is missing the swag because Marked One has all the swag.
I am assuming you are using my shader mod, if so you can force enable motion blur in the ShaderSettings.txt file.
Kingo just a short question because I don't know how the shaders and everything work, I know you tell people to overwrite your older version in LURK with your new one, but will that erase the bloom and stuff that holden put in or is that externally done?
Kingo just a short question because I don't know how the shaders and everything work, I know you tell people to overwrite your older version in LURK with your new one, but will that erase the bloom and stuff that holden put in or is that externally done?
That bloom effect is just turning on r2_ls_bloom_fast in the console, it is disabled by default. The mod's scripts (This is where I am impressed with Holden) automatically enable it. Don't worry, they are completely separate things. Just make sure to merge over the options you have selected in ShaderSettings from LURK to the updated version.
fast bloom is so ugly.
Gmod4ever do you have any idea what you're getting yourself into? ;)
Most likely not.
Where is King's version of LURK? I wish to try this mod.
Just saw this
Whole thing : Q: What will be the biggest difference between S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and the previous games, if any? A: In brief, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will offer new story, new set characters (with some good old ones) and, of course, the new engine powering it. Q: Will there be more of a survival element to STALKER 2? A:Yes. Q:What features have been removed/compromised in the PC version due to the multiplatform release? A:Since we develop primarily on PC, you won't see any compromises in the PC version. The key difference between the PC and console versions will be the beauty of graphics (meaning PC will offer more of visual effects). Q:Will there be any new kinds of interaction with NPCs? A: How do you mean? It's difficult to answer this one. Q:Will Sidorovich be in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2? A:I will refrain from answering this one for now. Q:Will the faction wars return? A:No. Q:Will the interface (inventory, map, etc) on the pc version suffer (like other games have) by trying to cater for console systems? A: No, whatsoever. Q:Will there be any new mutants? A:Yes. Q:How many weapons will be in Stalker 2? A:It's difficult to give the quantitative figure at this point. Q:Which part of the zone will it take place? Or is it the zone at all? A:We'll be locating the game in the triangle of CNPP, the cities of Chernobyl and Chernobyl 2 (where the huge antenna is located). Q:Is Zone going to be a large single ? A:Let's postpone this question for now. Q:Will it support DX11? A:Yes. Q:Will we see more X-Labs and secret underground complexes? A:Yes. Q:Will GSC expand on the import-a-weapon feature introduced with Nimble, and allow players access to more varied and custom weapons from outside the Zone by importing them through specialist contacts? A:We have some interesting new ideas on this matter. Q:Will artifacts be something we can go out and transmute through Anomalies? A:No. However, the area of artifact application will expand.
I wonder if they will make the weapons properly modeled this time. (Not having ejectors on the right side.)
I wonder if they will make the weapons properly modeled this time. (Not having ejectors on the right side.)
Why does this bother so many people? It's really not a big deal in my eyes.
Where is King's version of LURK? I wish to try this mod.
Anyone? I need something to play as I have several hours to kill.
Why does this bother so many people? It's really not a big deal in my eyes.
I agree but coming from the guy who made the super realism mod that's a bit strange.
Because everything has to be 100% realistic in a game with physics defying anomalies.
Anyone? I need something to play as I have several hours to kill.
I don't think he has made his own version of LURK. I think you're thinking of his shader mod, of which LURK uses an older version. You can find a newer version (completely compatible with LURK) of his shader mod here: http://sites.google.com/site/kingo64ssite/Home/optimised-game-shaders/stalker-shaders-max
I agree but coming from the guy who made the super realism mod that's a bit strange.
Realistic ballistics and such is different than whether a weapon has the ejector port on the right side, really.
In my opinion, what makes Stalker kind of unique in a way is the fact that you aren't some human-fridge hybrid that can survive walking into a sea of bullets.
