In what way? The only gameplay changes I'm aware of are these: It makes the player somewhat more resilient to damage (easier) and makes literally every single mutant somewhat tougher (harder), those changes balance each other out to some degree and the difficulty is similar to vanilla, hence: "barely".
Repair kits, NPC grenades, sleeping bag, SEVA suits and the like automatically use medkits/antirad on you.
Repair kits, NPC grenades, sleeping bag, SEVA suits and the like automatically use medkits/antirad on you.
wait what
wait what
Complete makes the SEVA act like the HEV suit in HL to put it roughly.
Yup. Put on SEVA suit, hear "AUTOMATIC MEDICAL SYSTEMS ENGAGED" from Half-Life. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] I'm serious.
I was 'wat'ing more at the fact that it does that and still claims to maintain a vanilla experience. I didn't realise it did that much. That's abysmal.
Now you see my sorrow when people go "OMG COMPLETE MAKES STALKER 1000 PERCENT BETTER, I KNOW THIS OBJECTIVELY." They're just parroting stuff they read in a gaming magazing because they don't know any better (and neither did the people who reviewed Complete).
Yup. Put on SEVA suit, hear "AUTOMATIC MEDICAL SYSTEMS ENGAGED" from Half-Life. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] I'm serious.
Yeah, but didn't Call of Pripyat have that upgrade for the SEVA suit as well? I'm by no means defending Complete in that regard but I thought the sleeping bag, NPC grenades and repair kits were a good thing to add because I don't want that authentic vanilla experience that I wouldn't accept features that were dummied out of the original game and it's difficult not to want those features in SHOC.
FreeLURK is kind of boring. I can't find any quests or anything to do.
A lot of anti-rad as well, there are pockets of radiation in all of the good places of cover :(
I hate that, and some of the pockets are INSTARAD, you get 100% radiation poisoning and your geiger counter doesn't say anything :l
A lot of anti-rad as well, there are pockets of radiation in all of the good places of cover :(
I just finished the Brain Scorcher mission, didn't use a single antirad or vodka :colbert: [editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
Now you see my sorrow when people go "OMG COMPLETE MAKES STALKER 1000 PERCENT BETTER, I KNOW THIS OBJECTIVELY."
I just finished the Brain Scorcher mission, didn't use a single antirad or vodka :colbert:
Then you have powers the zone itself has granted you.
I demand for a new STALKER to play People Soup first. And I mean someone who just got it.

What does that green light with a vest on it mean? In CoP. Just started playing.
What does that green light with a vest on it mean? In CoP. Just started playing.
Your armour has degraded slightly. When it's yellow or red it has degraded further, obviously. e: There's also similar icons for your helmet and weapon. When they reach yellow, you should go repair them on the nearest technician. Repairing your guns is the most important because they lose accuracy and jam a lot if you let them degrade a lot.
Thanks, I thought it was something like that. So what does the detector do? And where can I get binoculars?
Thanks, I thought it was something like that. So what does the detector do? And where can I get binoculars?
?? You should have the binoculars already and by default they're bound to "5". The detector helps you locate artifacts. You can't see them at all unless you use a detector to find them. The "echo" detector is crap and will get you killed if you go artifact hunting with it (the shorter the intervals between beeps, the closer the artifacts are) . You should get "Bear" at the very least. Also, the early detectors cannot pick up "better" artifacts so you don't get far by using the first detector. e: I don't know what you know about Stalkan so here's a little clarification of some things : STALKER 101 :pseudo: :
After the second Chernobyl disaster, the Zone was littered with spots where the laws of nature and physics had been corrupted. These small oddities are called anomalies. They are hazardous, often deadly, towards human beings and other creatures as they can deliver electric shocks or burn, corrode and distort physical objects. Most anomalies produce visible air or light distortions, so their extent can be determined by throwing anything that is made of metal, like bolts, to trigger them.
That's what "anomalies are in a nutshell. They can seriously mess you up but they also birth all these wonderful things called "artifacts", more on them below :
Artifacts are items that have been changed by the conditions in the Zone. most artifacts have strange and useful characteristics. For example, when kept close to the body, some artifacts create a protective field that increases its user's resilience to damage. Others may increase the user's stamina or protect against fire, etc. Artifacts are also valuable scientific study material and outside corporations would pay a hefty price to obtain one of these artifacts from the zone.
Tl;dr they improve your stats and provide protection against the Zone's environmental hazards but most give you radiation so you'll have to counter them with antirads or radiation removing artifacts. Also, they can be sold for considerable amounts of cash. e: Also, the artifacts are different in each anomaly type. For example, the chemical anomalies produce artifacts that give chem protection etc. Good luck, stalker You'll need it :jihad:
I demand for a new STALKER to play People Soup first. And I mean someone who just got it.
I guess that way we shall find out who is the true Zone-Marked Stalker. Not many people faced the Soup and got out fine. And those that did were Russians.
Can I sleep or something?

I thought SoC Complete was pretty great. I got tired of vanilla so I went to ModDB, lurked around the SoC mods and there it was. "Bug fixes, slight changes...sounds neat." Downloaded, installed and played through. A nice, subtle change and kind of got relieved due to the repairing thing because seriously, I got pissed at having to buy a new suit every two days in vanilla. The SEVA thing was a bit silly, I thought I was Gordon Freeman and went all GoldSrc on mercs. Later on it got way too easy, but it's a casual mod and as such it's pretty swell. Still, it's nothing it claims to be. I just ignored that after I played it through once. I respect it for what it actually is, not how retarded the "artist" Pavel is. [sp]someone's going to rate me dumb anyway, i just know it.[/sp] But, while Complete is an allright mod, I'd say the best stalkan mod would be AMK Sidorovich Ed. If I can't come up with anything else, I use that. If I really want to rage and crash and crash I take Soup+DMX.
Can I sleep or something?
In the major Stalker hubs you can find bunk beds or a mattress to sleep on. e: You'll find that quite many new players tend to avoid the night by sleeping. The more experienced Stalkers embrace the night and go out looting when everyone else is sleeping :ssh: .
That reminds me, somebody totally has to merge SPARTAN 11:11 and TFW.
Does anyone else remember that mod for CoP that had some videos of some advanced weapon modding in terms of attachments and what happened to it? It looked like a super ambitious mod but I can't find anything of it now.
Can I sleep in this giant boat-y place?
Can I sleep in this giant boat-y place?
Just use your eyes and LURK SOME MORE.
Only the true stalkers mastered the wizardry that is the bedroll. Hence why Marked One isn't a true stalker, he never sleeps in a bedroll in SoC. He prefers dusty concrete in a danger-filled lab instead.
