I think it's going to be the 8800GT of its generation, it's a great piece of tech, for a very very reasonable price. I'll probably stick with it for a good while, and it'll still be a competitor for good looks for I hope, the forseeable future.
Thanks a lot, I'll probably get this card this week. :)

I'm planning on buying it, can't decide whether it's worth the money or not. :\
Pretty much, GTX460 at the 5770 are the best mid-range cards of this gen.
If it makes you feel better, 460 was the highest end back in 2010, (and to be honest. I still consider it high-end). Max out evry gaem
Me too, it's pretty much the best you'll get if you're not looking to spend mega-bucks.
I have a 8600GT! :smith:

I had an 8500GT :c00lbutt:
I got 200 vodka bottles in CoPripyatan. Shit feels even better when you're sipping a vodka cocktail IRL. Although the blood makes my nose bleed, an odd coincidence. Kind of related, do any of you actually drink vodka? Especially you who live near Chernobyl. If so, do you drink it raw or do you mix something with it?
Get the 560 Ti if you're planning on buying a new card, some versions are better specced than the 590. Also price/performance is insane. [editline]18th April 2011[/editline] On the rocks if you have hair anywhere but your head :colbert:

My body revolted at the mere thought of it for a good few weeks, but I'm kind of tempted by that lime-flavoured Smirnoff.
It's a mergemod of the greatest proportions that passes itself off as 'Vanilla 2.0'. Everything in it you can get elsewhere (and standalone if you prefer). It's barely even a mod, frankly.
If you're talking about CoP Complete, I agree. SoC Complete is a decent mod that does have a fair bit of original content in it. Sure, it's casual, but that's a matter of taste and some people want that. Personally I used it as a base for my mod pack because I like its visuals, sounds and various fixes, and I can change the rest (like making the gameplay harder) myself. Saves me a lot of merging.
It offers nothing other mods doesn't have, lacks a fucking ton they do
Most other mods add or change too much for my taste and/or have poor presentation. More isn't always better. Sometimes it's great to have an alternative experience, but mostly I just want to play stalker, refined a bit. Jesus, when I first got the game, just about everywhere I went people would recommend Oblivion Lost, for a first playthrough! OL, with its crazy mutant clusterfuck spawns, cut mutants like those stupid zombies that take 60 rounds to the face, and those random scripted attacks like the one that spawns a god damn Hind in Yantar that can and does kill you through the walls of the mobile lab... Thank god I ignored them and played it vanilla the first time, and ZRP the second.

SoC Complete, though I dislike it less than CoP Complete, is still praised as 'Vanilla 2.0' which annoys me to no end.
I actually played SoC vanilla, then Complete, then came here and discovered an amazing thing called AMK. SoC Complete is more like Vanilla 1.05 as it slightly modifies things and kills bugs. It's not so improved it should be labeled as V2 of SoC, but people tend to advertise their products as the best thing ever. Marketing industry and all. Also, shit this vodka is delicious. Mixed some pig blood innit, can't get enough. Wait, am I a bloodfucker now?
SoC Complete, though I dislike it less than CoP Complete, is still praised as 'Vanilla 2.0' which annoys me to no end.
I agree but I just judge it for what it is, not what people say it is.
I guess I'll download Complete then just cause of the ability to skip parts and replay them.
About this, it's a ZRP feature which allows you to skip ahead in the storyline. Say if you select 'Wild Territory', it'll automatically mark as complete any quests that you should have done by then and give you a bit of money and some decent equipment (nothing like what a shrewd stalker would have accumulated but enough to get by). I personally find it useful for testing stuff that requires a new game.

I don't drink often though, I would need a compelling reason to do so. Such as when something new comes up.
I drunk it with coke :3:
Again with the drinking. Foreveralone.jpg
So after a relatively long leave from Chernobyl, I returned to start a new adventure. As soon as I start and open a trade menu with Sidorovich, I saw he possessed a "Tunder" 5.45 for 10,000 Rubles. I found the Stalker suit in the rookie camp nearby and sold it, and then purchased that lovely assault rifle. To my amazement, it came with 20 rounds. I went to the military cordon and proceeded to slaughter every armed soldier so I could steal their ammo. I took all of their equipment and raided some secret stashes. I went back to Sidorovich and sold all of the gear plus the unwanted pistol ammo. I'm just starting off in the game on Master difficulty and I have 16k Rubles and 500 rounds for my assault rifle. u jelly? In other news, I'm going to get Stalker CoP for my birthday.
I drunk it with coke :3:
You should try rum and coke, mmm.
Thanks! The really interesting thing is inside the building in the background - you'll have to wait to find out what that is though!
A chest full of Vodka. Anyone who says otherwise is not a true Stalker.

I beat the tunnel in 3 minutes... I have 9 AKSU's an okoban with nade launcher 2 medkits 2 bandages 5 armored vests a pile of food about 200 rounds for my assault rifle a fort-14 with 100 rounds and 3 PDAs did I do good?
That's good enough, but what will you equip for yourself and what will you sell?

IF YOU DRINK Vodka IN I WORK ALONE, YOU'RE DRUNK FOR 12 INGAME HOURS.
I never actually understood why people think he's a douche other than him calling himself Artistpavel. Which he does because he draws.
Whenever someone says artistpavel all I can picture is
To me it's probably mostly grudge against the press he gets for doing jack shit and the pathetic amount of press all the other, amazing mods get. Complete even introduced crashes in a game that barely had any :colbert:

Also drinking vodka in bathrooms is the secret to time travel, playing poker while drinking helps the process too.
