something i didnt liked on beta, is how the active skills progress, the increase on damages/effects seems to be too low 2~4%.

Kill everything. Explore everything. Look for all the chests, jars, barrels, etc. Pick all the loot. Sell everything you won't use.
They gave me a beta key after only a few hours, nice!
Hmm, looks like their servers might be down.
Also, I'm getting my ass handed to me on veteran as a Berserker.
With my berserker, first thing I grabbed was Blood Rage or whatever it's called in the Hunter tree, every level I could basically. Next thing was the first skill from the Shadow tree, because it also has lifesteal on it (something like 7% +1%/level of your life total restored per enemy hit I think) but also because it lets you get out of groups.
The berserker lacks good crowd control early on; if your frenzy's down, try to keep on the edges of groups, if you get in the middle you're fucked. I often just leap in, using Howl to decrease defense and slow enemies, get a few hits in and get out, especially against the Mirka Slashers with their damn frost breath (somehow I die faster against two of them than against the [sp]Grand Regent[/sp] at the end of the beta, despite having ~40 frost soak + 30% frost resist, guessing the frost breath debuffs your defense as well)
Mind you, one on one berserkers can take on just about anything without any trouble without doing much more than standing in place and attacking, if you're using the crit regen and fast weapons. I really wish I could find more enchanters though, on my Outlander I was practically wading through seas of master enchanters and my berserker has the one in town and that's it. My outlander has +crit chance/damage% all over the place and my berserker just feels so damn weak in comparison. With a crossbow I'm critting reliably above 1200 on the outlander and my berserker can just cap 700 on a howled target with his 2h axe.

yey
I signed up on Sunday, JUST now got my key. It ends Thursday, btw. I've just got out of school. Time to lose sleep.
I just fucked up my leg yesterday and received my beta key today, so I guess I got something to do until Thursday.
Just finished the beta
i love this game
Played it for an hour and a half so far with another guy.
Normal seems incredibly easy.
all the unique armor I find is Outlander :(
I've only found unique Engie and Outlander armor set
Is this a good game that I can use to suck away time/stress?

Diablo clones do tend to get strangely addictive like that.
This has actually made me wonder something though. They've been following the Diablo formula pretty closely so far. The first game is just one town with one dungeon, and the second game is more of a wide-open world with some sorta sub-dungeons, and multiple towns... So what would Torchlight 3 be like, if they do end up making it a trilogy?
T3 will be even better mostly because the devs build T2 on feedbacks from T1.
Love how the combat feels in this. I played Titan Quest a few days ago, combat at the start felt incredibly weak and boring... in this combat was fun from the start.
Also prismatic bolt is the best skill next to thunder locus.

Normal tends to be on the easier side for these types of games. That's why they have multiple difficulties. Not to mention this was only a beta and only Act 1 of the full game, seems kind of weird to base the difficulty on that.
Edit: Just noticed your name. Nice...

I think TQ's biggest advantage is the ragdoll physics, but a lot of the time they are kind of understated, i.e. not enough opportunities to send them sailing through the air, or smashing into obstacles. If Torchlight had ragdoll physics, I'm sure it would be a lot more entertaining.
Ooh, I got into the beta without realizing. Tomorrow is gonna be a good day. It's a real shame I can't afford the first or second, I'll just get the most out of tomorrow then.
Torchlight is so simple and straight forward, but still so much fun, you end up playing for hours. I love it.
Somehow this game makes my eyes hurt, like they're put under a lot of strain. This is the first game that does this for me :/

Why do you need ragdoll physics if everything explodes?
I have +140% Magic Find on my Embermage.
The uniques don't stop.

yep, veteran is the real "normal", i am afraid elite might be too easy on 6 players.

More players, higher difficulty.
So no, it wont be too easy
So I got a preorder.... the first Torchlight is quite bad.

I'd argue that Frost Phase is the best skill simply due to the mobility and utility it gives, but I do feel that Thunder Locus is right behind it. Throw in a few hailstorms, some pillars of fire and Prismatic Bolt spam and you melt almost anything in the game.

WHAT IN THE FUCK HAPPENED? D:

I can't maximize it, nor can I even find the options to change the size. THAT'S NOT EVEN THE SIZE OF A CELLPHONE SCREEN :suicide:
