What builds are you guys playing anyway? I've got a pretty awesome support engineer build going; I'm at level 32 and have 100 vitality, 85 strength, 5 in the other two, one point in Flame Hammer because I forgot to untrain it at the start of the game, 9 in Heavy Lifting, Healbot and Bulwark, 8 in Agis of Fate and 5 in Force Field. You could drop heavy lifting or agis for more points in force field if you want to be more helpful to other people, or if you want a different combat style but hitting things with a wrench works pretty well for me. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] Makes it harder to play on my own though, but in a group the healbot and force field are pretty damn useful. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] People don't seem to know healbot gives mana too, once you've to it to level five, I pretty much don't use potions.
Finally spent my 30 skill points at level 25. :v: This skill calculator helped: http://torchlight2armory.com/skill-calc
Awesome, found a legendary item: [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/902101368899201416/9F4BF3211312F43CE00F249D3B6CB19E4BED4CEB/[/thumb] Too bad it's useless to me.
How to make everyone love you; Step 1: Pick engineer Step 2: Pump points into healbot Step 3: Stand beside other party members and bask in the unconditional love
I'm playing as an engineer, and I never realised until last night but the heal bot is pretty much my entire method of tanking any damage, helps that I sit at the back with shotgonnes and cannons while my mate rolls face up close but still, that thing keeps me alive.
I dont think ive had to use a health potion thanks to the bot.
I've only had to use pots when I get too close to a miniboss or mob that uses an AoE attack/splash attack, the bot has literally kept me alive throughout the game. I think I'm gonna try a game at some point where I transition from using guns and stuff into using nothing but abilities like the spider mines and bots.

Finally got my game registered... Now tomorrow I can start my hardcore elite playthrough!
Okay this is really fuckin with me right now. I want to play with a friend, up to a certain level everything worked okay, we are friends over steam. Now when we enter that second waypoint one of us just completely disconnects from Steam and loses connection to the game. Its weird.
I really hope someone releases a respec mod soon. And I hope we can respec stats as well as skills. (There was a respec mod released by one of the devs for the first game, if memory serves, but I'm pretty sure it only reset skill point allocation.) I've never understood why many games don't include a respec option. This seems like the most obvious addition to a leveling up system that grants stat and skill points, and yet a lot of games just don't have one. Or worse, have a gimped one like the one in TL2.
The only thing the one in this is good for is if you click the wrong thing, and untraining your starting skill to put into something else.
Found an axe that levels up as you kill Sturmbeorn(however you spell it), shame it's only a unique weapon and not an actual weapon attribute. :(
For everybody who wants to reset skills / statspoints before a mod comes out: 1. Go to User/Documents/My Games/Runic Games/Torchlight 2/save/(number)/ 2. Open settings.txt, change "Console: 0" to "Console: 1" - close and save 3. Load up your character, hold insert and type resetskills and resetstats Cheating, but probably legal since this is the ingame console. Edit: If you dont get your points back use "Skillpoints x" and "Statpoints x" in console.

I don't want to have points in rapid fire due to me not liking it. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] And I don't think it's cheating to reset skills, as someone stated, it's a pretty obvious feature you should have in a RPG. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] Heh, now I have no skills and no points to spend, funny joke :v: [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] Do I have to create a new char now? I guess so.
Well thats weird. I just created a new char and tried it and it gave me back my skillpoints. Wait a sec imma see if you can add them back through console. Sorry Edit: Yeah just use "Skillpoints x" and "Statpoints x"

I don't remember how much points I had. If I'm lvl 10 I should have 10 skillpoints right? How much statpoints though?
Statpoints are level-1 x 5 i think. So it should be 45
I don't remember how much points I had. If I'm lvl 10 I should have 10 skillpoints right? How much statpoints though?
Stat points at level 10? You get 5 per level, except for level 1, so I think it's 45.
Combining, enchanting items and buying unidentified items is so goddamn addicting. I love this game
This marks your character suspicious in MP, though. You can't see it but everyone else can.
That's kind of silly, but I can live with it I guess.
That's kind of silly, but I can live with it I guess.
It's just because you used the console. Don't be surprised if you get kicked from games or something.
I don't remember how much points I had. If I'm lvl 10 I should have 10 skillpoints right? How much statpoints though?
It's your character level plus your fame level for skills.
This is me being close minded again, but I like not being able to reset your skills, at least not all of them. It gives you a reason to think about the character you're building and gives you more of a reason to replay through the game. But whatever floats your boat I guess.
THIS GAME IS GOOD seriously though, it's amazing so far and I can't wait for the mod tools and workshop support.
THIS GAME IS GOOD seriously though, it's amazing so far and I can't wait for the mod tools and workshop support.
I agree! I still don't know if I enjoy outlander though. I played Engi in beta and it was really fun. Games like these are really fun when it comes to melee.
It's just because you used the console. I know it's hard with this situation because they need to return points on reset as well.
