Yay, I got in too. But after this weekend we won't be able to play anymore, right? It clearly says in the email "Welcome to the Torchlight II Beta Weekend". Shame.
Getting like 60-120kb/s speed on the launcher with HTTP+P2P and like 30kb/s with only HTTP. Ffffff
And the first time round it sat there displaying "Applying patch" for over an hour at which point I decided to try again

Until Tuesday when it closes I believe.
Downloading the beta too, it's slow as hell.
Got into the beta, fuck yeah
Oh my god this is incredible.
By level 15 you're playing endgame Diablo 2 on steroids and cocaine.
Torchlight 2 is going to be amazing. Clocked 5 hours to get to level 21 and through the first hub town (which is where the beta ends). Got lots of legendary engineer items and made myself look badass.
Here's me and my happy little raiding party.

Can't wait, glad I've already preordered.
Also the NDA has been lifted, you can post screenshots, stream, do whatever now.
Arf now i want to play even more
Feels pretty good atm, was level 8 when game crashed for me. Better than D3 beta, that's for sure!
Played 30 min of beta, i don't want to be spoiled so i just tested the gameplay.
Feels so good, and it's even better in coop. The game is really smooth.
I'm preordering it right now.
Playing as an Embermage (because between the two classes Alchemist was split into, I'll always take the one which got the Death Star Laser power) with a papillon called Sathanas. Watching a little dog cause the bigger enemies to explode into gold, gore and large damage numbers is hilarious. And so is the Storm Arc power. The range is a lot shorter than the old Ember Lance, but the player turns faster and it splits the beam across other enemies with each kill.
I'm glad to have pre-ordered this. It's a straight upgrade from Torchlight, which is all I could have asked for.

I fucking love Torchlight's aesthetic.
15 Outlander, got a pair of real nice pistols in the other weapon slot, going Warfare/Lore and skipping whatever that third tree was called.
I wonder if characters will be kept?
If i buy torchlight 2 and i don't own the first, can i choose to put it in my inventory or does it go directly in my library ?
[editline]19th May 2012[/editline]
Bought it on steam, feels good.
So I just started playing the beta, and made my character and all that and now I can select what type of pet I have rather than just the dog.
Really wanna preorder but I don't have any money.

In TL1 there was Cat and Dog, but yeah It's much better now.
I think I'm going to pre-order Torchlight 2 now, the beta is a blast to play.

I wish I could preorder it, but it's imposible for me.
Wich reminds me, http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1152132?p=36006899&viewfull=1#post36006899 (sorry)
Pre-Ordered the 4-Pack. My friends and I are going to have alot of fun with this
Really solid feeling game, Better than D3 imho. That is of course based on ~3hour beta with both games.
Might Pre-purchase from Perfect world, to get in Neverwinter closed beta.
This is fucking cool, if we preorder the game will our characters from the beta move over to the full? Oh and does hardcore mode on mulitplayer and new games still cause perma death?

No you won't keep characters from the beta and yes permadeath should work in multiplayer.
Just preordered!

Hardcore will always cause permadeath. About the beta characters, I'm not sure. They'll probably be erased in the final version, to prevent advantage at the start, to make you play the game again so you can experience all the improvements, and to prevent any kind of problem that the differences in stats/equipment/etc from the beta could cause in the final.
Torchlight 2 Beta: Part 1
I somehow managed to get my grubby paws on the Torchlight 2 Beta. I bought the original Torchlight a few days ago, I'm not yet finished with the game, but so far I've been enjoying it thoroughly. Unfortunately the original gets so boring after a while I get the desire to hang myself with my belt after two hours of playing. Without taking a break my mouse would probably get a seizure and die from all the clicking, so maybe the developers designed the game to be repetitive otherwise thousands of people would be sitting with broken mouses. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the game very much, the cool effects, the isometric view and the amount of things to do make it a must buy for $15. Now I shall see if Torchlight 2 lives up to the hype...
I created a Outlander (ranger type character) and a cat as my pet (Puffy-Death). I'm greeted by a beautifully drawn cutscene about a so-called monster who destroyed Torchlight. I arrive in a outpost built to fend off Ordrak (The monster). The game's art style is beautiful! I prefer this style to Torchlight's. Anyway I talk to a rather chunky looking guy who tells me to go to the Estherian Enclave and warn Grand Regent of the attack.

Excuse me sir, I want to know WHAT THE HELL DOES ONE EAT TO LOOK LIKE THAT!?
I start walking/running to Estherian Enclave, hoping I actually get rewarded for my noble deed. On my heroic quest I encounter Ratlins (People who ate too much rat meat??) I fight through hordes of Ratlin, seems to me that the combination of my duel Matchlock pistols and Puffy-Death is too much for them. Soon after that I start encountering what looks like a sloth and a troll had a baby. They're alot stronger than the Ratlins, but very slow. That gives me enough time to shoot, backup and shoot again. I encounter a Estherian Guard fighting for his life against the ratlins. I clean up the rat scum very easily, he better have a reward for all this hard work! And he has, a better pistol! About 25 more damage than my current matchlock-crap. But sadly I can only equip it at level 3.

"Take my jacket Troll, you'll get a cold."
Yay, level up! I'm greeted with a attribute and a skill point window. The attributes are things like Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Defense. Skill points passive and activated abilities you can use. I get 5 attribute points and 1 skill point. I divide my attribute point into strength and dexterity and spend my skill point on upgrading Glaive Throw. Glaive Throw is a thrown glaive (Duh) that ricochets of enemies doing a shitload of damage, great for big groups of enemies. Finally I arrive a the Estherian Encalve. Now I must just find the Grand Regent... Oh, silly me, of course he's the old guy with a beard so long that it hangs on floor.

"If you pee, does it hang in the toilet?"
He tells me to go talk to Commander Vale at Wellspring Temple. Whatever you say, I mean you must know everything because you have a insanely long beard and you wear long robes. I walk around and find a Estherian Guard, who tells me to go fetch armor schematics at The Temple Steppes. Great, now I'm courier...
Will be updated in a few days, stay tuned.

I pre-ordered as soon as I read I could get the first torchlight for free.
Torchlight feels more like diablo to me than diablo 3.
I sort of dislike how things got overly simplified in diablo 3,you can't even change your own stats if you so desire.
Engineer is so awesome, thanks to the healing robot I have enough potions to heal a small army.
I'm excited for this.
Tell me, what is the summoner class? In Torchlight 1, I was an Alchemist who invested heavily into the Lore tree, and I always had an army of minions surrounding me.
It seems to me like it's the Engineer. Is this so?
