[QUOTE=SGTNAPALM;36018388]I'm excited for this.
Tell me, what is the summoner class? In Torchlight 1, I was an Alchemist who invested heavily into the Lore tree, and I always had an army of minions surrounding me.
It seems to me like it's the Engineer. Is this so?[/QUOTE]
Yeah, the engineer can make support and battle robots. And got special skill for two handed hammers and cannons.

I was kinda sad that it was over but well, it's the beta: they aren't going to let you play the entire game. Also it can motivate you to try the other classes.
I made an outlander a couple of hours ago.
My pet is a cat.
Not just any cat.
That Cat
I still play the beta which I got today, I'm really loving it this far, had fought my first big boss the General guy, I was surprised how much punishment he took at normal difficulty, I'm really digging it. I'm still gonna get D3 and T2 at the same time.
I read that possible pets include birds of prey. Is that true?
[editline]19th May 2012[/editline]
Because I want a fucking falcon to follow me around.

Yes. There is a falcon/hawk.
I love my Embermage build! I'm using a purely Storm skillset and it's amazing.
I use prismatic build to build me some charge and I also use my normal attacks (I usually use wands)
Then I have 2 more abilities. The first one is Shocking Burst. I use it when I am battling high health ennemies like champions or bosses. I just activate it and drink some health and mana potion while it slowly, but surely, kills him.
My other skill is Arc Beam, and what a skill it is. I use it whn I'm surrounded by ennemies. I just laser away. As they die, they split the laser and it hits other ennemies (and it pierces too!). Activating it on Nether Thralls and their tentacles make you feel SO powerful!
Haven't gotten a beta invite yet, but I love Torchlight so I pre-ordered the second one. Now I have one Torchlight gift, does anyone want it?

That's it. I'm officially excited for this game.

I could give it to a friend, if you'd be so kind

Thanks wootmonster!
Aww, reached level cap and beat the beta, just when I was doing ~500 damage per hit. The last beta boss looked cool but was really weak on normal, I didn't even use a single potion. Guess I'll play Outlander next.
Normal is way too easy.
Veteran is perfect for me.
[editline]19th May 2012[/editline]
Is Watchweald temple final?
I have both Embermage and Engineer on 21, but still haven't beat Watchweald temple.
I tanked the [sp]Grand Regent[/sp] with my engineer, just popped Forcefield and spammed Flame Hammer / Spider Mine / Elemental Overload till he dropped. When the adds started to become trouble I'd just shield bash my way through, popped a potion and oneshotted them with a single Flame Hammer.
God damn I love this game.

Yes, Watchweald Temple is the final dungeon of the beta. It also contains the last quest of the Enclave hub town.
My Engineer skills of choice were Ember Hammer, Dynamo Field, Healing Bot, Gun Bot, Large Weapon Expertise, Supercharge, Strong Defense and Aegis of Fate, just build up charge and everything around dies to Ember Hammer. Fun as hell.
What's a good skill to deal with masses of smaller enemies as an Outlander? Right now the only one I've found to be effective is the starting glaive and I just use Rapid Fire for mass damage against small amounts of enemies with my bow

I really like how you can mix and match weapons this time around. While the skill trees need a bit of tweaking (eg. the Akimbo skill for Outlander is over level 40 which is insane), you can be a ranged Engineer or a sword+shield Engineer at ease, and there's all kinds of skills to make it satisfying and worthwhile without gimping gameplay. I like how there was a passive skill which turned your shield armor rating into weapon damage, making it all that more worth it to try that combo out.
I hope T2 will use steam workshop.
That would be amazing

The developers have mentioned how cool that they thought it would be, whether or not they'll implement it though who knows.
Cool I got a beta key!
Cool it says it's already registered!

Oh don't worry. It automatically links it to your Runic account. You only have to register it in the client.

Ohh yeah, got a beta key! Really looking forward to this!
Engineer owns. Heal/Gun Bot with the stomp move, Aegis passive, and the Force field thingy dominates everything

That satisfying feeling popping Forcefield in the middle of a crowd and just Firestomping all mooks into the ground.
Oh god, I was just sorta going through the beta at a leisurely place on normal, exploring everything, and I just had my first death... possibly large spoiler ahead.
[sp]My first death was against One Eyed Willy...from the Goonies. There is an entire dungeon based on the Goonies, including the corpse of Chester Copperpot, and the boss of the dungeon is in fact One Eyed Willy[/sp]

oh my god I missed it :(

All the classes have summons, but I think engineer has the most. I didn't see any of the golems from TL1 there, but they might be in the later skills that were hidden. The Outlander gets something sortof similar to nether imps, except they have really short duration and you summon them a bit differently.
Also, like in the first game you can find spells that let you summon minions aswell, like skeletons.

For a sneak peek into what's in the Mana Wastes area (hub town Zeryphesh), you can go to the vendor and see that some of the desert style items are available to be bought.
For example, the assassin mask I equipped here:

There's also sandals and turbans and shizzle. Also those Engineer uniques are amazing - are there any one-hand Wrenches or all they all just two-handed weapons?

I dunno if it was in the Beta (I probably missed it), but in TotalBiscuit's latest video on Torchlight 2 he went into a dungeon that was directly ripped from The Thing. Included the ice casket, MacReady's shotgun and even the bloody zombie dog kennel.

I had noticed that too, the dungeon he enters is called "Norsk Lien" or something, which is Norwegian for Norwegian Camp, and the book he reads on the Table near the beginning is some dialogue from The Thing too.
