Because Last Light is still fairly new, and it's clearly a mistake that it's on sale for one cent. Just like when people scored Dirt 3 copies from the video card giveaway, or Ubisoft's store when they accidentally put stuff up for $1, this too will be undone if it goes on for much longer than an hour. I bought Conviction from Ubisoft for a dollar and they took it away weeks later. This is just an emailed CD Key. Of course it'll be un-done

IIRC in previous sales it won't get cheaper than the community choice price.
So far this sale: bought Borderlands 2 season pass and the Krieg DLC, Dark Souls, and I got Metro Last Light for a penny because Best Buy fucked up.

I paid for the code. The transaction is completed, so it's hardly legal for them to demand that I "return" the game because they fucked up.

I got a few games (SH3, RUSE + DLC, Cold Fear, AssCreed I & II, HAWX 2 + DLC) for free from a Ubisoft store stuff up, they later emailed and said "we fucked up, enjoy the games [sp]hope you feel bad now we can't afford to pay for Timmy's medicine[/sp]".
Don't you get into the whole "false advertising" thing? I've seen stores cave before and let it go because products have had the wrong pricetag in front.
At the end of the day it's value of goodwill vs value of goods lost.

You can, though the appearances don't change all that much if I remember right. But you can swap out pretty much the whole loadout.

Except in an online environment, stores aren't obligated to honor false prices due to computer errors.
But the goods were already dispatched and the ones that weren't were cancelled, so people can't have their keys taken from them that they legally bought.
Picked up the Sonic Bundle + Dark Souls + Bastion + Hotline Miami + DX:HR on Amazon.
Day one and I've burned through half of my allotted 50$
