Absolutely. And don't worry, a controller is definitely recommended, but not required. If you're going to play with keyboard and mouse, download DSFix and Mousefix and it'll be perfectly playable.

I read somewhere (might be in the FAQ) that Valve mentioned that one day they may look into other things to do with the cards (such as crafting for free games, making a small TCG style game in Steam etc.)
