So I made a new game-type and have been testing it with my friends its a class based KOTH game-type and my first legitimate attempt to bring teamwork and class based, fast paced gameplay to Halo. I took many ideas from games like TF2 and Monday Night Combat. All players have no shields and 90% damage resistance as well as a lowered jump height. We've found that this makes for fun and fast gameplay. Its currently playable on all official maps and any maps that are compatible with KOTH. There are 5 playable classes each with its own distinct play style: Scout Weapon: Shotgun Armor Ability: Sprint The main role of the scout is to get to the hill quickly, and capture and defend it against the enemy with the shotgun. The class is especially useful in rushes and is pretty essential to a good offense Air Assault Weapon: Assault Rifle Armor Ability: Jet Pack The only air class, useful in keeping a lookout and calling out trouble in the distance on larger maps and picking off enemies around the hill with the Assault Rifle. The Air Assault can use his jetpack to avoid attacks from close ranged classes and watch over his teammates from above. Spec Ops Weapon: Repeater, Magnum Armor Ability: Evade Equipment: Frag Grenade The Spec Ops class is a specialty class good for both offense and defense. The Spec Ops class can easily execute quick attacks and take down the defenses of the enemy team with a well placed grenade. The Spec Ops also has the unique ability to avoid danger with a quick barrel roll, making him a great specialty class. Medic Weapon: Needler, Magnum Armor Ability: Drop Shield Equipment: 1 Plasma Grenade The Medic is the most important part of a good defense. While its not much of an offensive class its ability to drop a bubble shield is extremely useful for defending a hill while his Needlers ability to lock on to enemies makes him a great anti-air class. Stalker Weapon: Plasma Pistol Armor Ability: Active Camo Equipment: 1 Plasma Grenade The sneakiest of all the classes, the Stalker can prove very useful when trying to hold off the enemy. The stalker can use his Active Camo to sneak around the enemy and take them out from behind. His plasma pistol can take out a large chunk of the Medic's Drop Shield and his plasma grenade can clear a tightly packed enemy defense. The game is rather new so we're still working out some balancing issues right now, so please let me know if you have any suggestions! DL the Game: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=16522979&player=johnlmonkey Enjoy :haw:
Are headshots enabled? Because if they are, those magnums should be removed - unless you're really going for a fast-paced game. Otherwise, sounds nice. I'd like to play this on Saturday.

Sounds fun
With no shields, Needlers will be on a field day :v:
Custom games tomorrow, I'll be making some maps and games, that hopefully don't suck too much, so yeah, who is gonna join? If you say you are gonna join and you don't. Then fuck me and call you Jesus.
What the fuck double post?
I will be there. At least, I should, unless something comes up. But for now, I have a clean slate.
Sounds good, anyone else going to tag along or?
Sounds good, anyone else going to tag along or?
Ill try.
So thats 2 that should join, Christof should join like he usually does.
With no shields, Needlers will be on a field day :v:
You'd think so, but since Medics are mostly on defense and just about every other class is able to easily avoid them (sprint, evade, cloak, etc) its pretty well balanced, the only class that its really very effective against is the Air Assault because its easy to lock on to a large flying target. We saw this as a good thing though because the Medic really needed something to counter the Air Assault as we found that they were often a large threat to teams defending the hill (especially in more open areas) with their ability to hover about clearing out defenses and whatnot. Its all pretty well thought out. :v:
I suppose so, but I'll have to test it out at tomorrow's custom games.
I suppose so, but I'll have to test it out at tomorrow's custom games.
Its stil a relatively new game so if you see any issues in testing let me know, I've had a few opportunities to test it out with various maps and playercounts and most of the people that have played it enjoyed it (although some got overly competitive about it )
Changed Xbox live name to MOA WINGS
So thats 2 that should join, Christof should join like he usually does.
I wouldn't count on it. I'm panting and then moving into my new bed room this weekend so I might not be able to join. Saying that though I may be finished by the time you start so I'll see how it goes.

So I check my stats and then look at the amount of games I have played. Not what I was expecting...
You evil bro, you evil
So customs today will be around 8PMish GMT.
Sorry to pull this on you guys, but I'll be about an hour late.
Im gonna be a little late, just had to reinstall windows 7 and now im sorting out all the shit I need to download.
Ok, I'll be making a mess around slayer map, Pixel you invite me to party or something when you are done or etc. something.
So... Only C0mboTroop and I are online... oh and it won't let me join your game Combo, even when you invited me. I have an open NAT, so~
Ok, made my gamemode and map, join!
Well. Small turnout, but still fun. As I said in game (several times before I realized my mic was off (then mispositioned (then off again (then someone talked over me (then again))))), I'd like to know what Bungie's process for determining the connection host of games is. That last game we played, the lag was simply awful, and we didn't get a single host migration even though it was obvious that the rest of the players besides the host had a better connection.
Anyone up for some Big Team Battle later? I'm hoping Facepunchers understand teamwork ,because I'm sick of Warthogs with no gunners and shit like that.
I had full green bars, yet my game still lagged quite badly.
That, too. Bungie's system of displaying people's connection quality is fucked. I could have a perfect connection, no lag, no issues at all, and it will show 1 bar. Not to mention "pause in a menu > scroll down to connection quality[?] > see "WARNING" on upstream", even though you have a 25/25 megabit stream that hasn't given you trouble in months.

Yes its not great for hosting, but its more than enough to be a client. My download speed is around 9mb and it works great. Its a 10Mb broadband package, and it works fine. Either way most people have the massive red WARNING! box for upstream, even if they have a good megabit stream. But then again, Bungie could expect everyone to have 1000mb broadbands.
Just downloaded a few Forge world variants with broken item limits, like 630 colliseum walls or 30 of each vehicle.
