All those features were made for the Reach engine, but they were made in a VERY early development phase, in a VERY old build of the Reach engine (which is very similar to the Halo 3 one, since they started to build off of that one)

We got space battles and real world war, although probably a scaled back version of what they intended at the beginning.
Enemy boarding blatantly evolved into assassination and Giants are those creature things in the night time level.
I wish there was a boat level though.

So many amazing ideas were cut from the Halo series. Global Fight seems to be a precursor to Firefight, and the space battles were obviously implemented in the Saber mission...but still. When you look at just how much was cut from Halo 2, 3 and Reach, it's saddening.
I want Boats so bad. The urge to use one in Forge World is killing me.

If you go with matchmaking firefight, it sets the difficulty to Heroic as well as randomly adds skulls in. Be sure to be at the peak of your game. :v:

Still, those features are typically in [I]only one[/I] mission. I.E. the Guta are in Nightfall only, space battles in Long Night of Solace, real world war on Tip of the Spear (and I guess on New Alexandria), etc.

Quick question guys (it's probably a really dumb one too) but is it generally accepted that a mic is pretty much required for firefight matchmaking or would most people be okay with a silent guy in their game?
Most people will be okay I guess, otherwise they'll just prefer chatty.

Kinda why I loved Halo games - people would trashtalk. Those who were good enough were exciting to listen to, while those who were bad enough were hilarious to listen to. I don't remember talking to anybody via voice chat in Reach Matchmaking.
i've been with parties who have been told a few times to stop talking. WHY WOULD WE OWN A MIC IF NOT TO USE IT. why does some random asshat have to interrupt my intellectual conversations to tell me to not speak over a form of social media.

There's a setting in the options that just mutes everyone that isn't a friend. Why not just use that? Saves time.
