Major League Gaming. AKA The overcompetitive, IT'S-NOT-JUST-A-FUCKING-GAME asshole club. Or umm... yeah... what the intelligent ninja said.
MLG stands for Major League Gaming. It's the North American professional video gaming league. Real MLG matches are pretty badass and are a show of skill. 99.9% of the MLGers are 12 year olds who have next to no affiliation with MLG. MLG also makes special rules for games which usually strip out anything random, "unfair" or "overpowered". Usually it depends on the game and gamemode. I don't really think there's a European equivalent. And the Asian equivalent is Korea. :v:
Basically stripping down the game to its core... Without all the fun stuff. :P Though, that's just an opinion.
I wonder what MLG would be like with random weapon loadouts.
I wonder what MLG would be like with random weapon loadouts.
Lots and lots of crying.
Whoops, forgot to render. Handled it now, though, it should be good. http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=10854866&player=beetle179

Multi Team is fucking broken. The maps are too small and having Armor Lock in every damn gamemode really throws the balance off. For that matter, Armor Lock needs a nerf against infantry and grenades. If someone is stuck and then enters Armor Lock, they should die.
Armor lock pisses me off
You have to be stupid to not know how to counter armour lock on foot. (Hint: Wait and reload, they don't regain shields). Armour lock is fine, it grants you a moment of invulnerability but takes away your ability to move, shoot, reload and regain shields. If you're having trouble with it you need to try a different tactic. Moving AWAY from the person works.
Just a heads up, boys and girls; if I'm not posting, it's because Cataclysm is absorbing my soul.

[editline]7th December 2010[/editline] 25,000 Credits away from Captain. Limited amount of work tonight, so I'm going to see if I can make a dent in it before I get fed up with armor lock in Rumble Pit and go play Cataclysm.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Noble Team looks alot like Jericho? It's just too clustered on such small maps to wait for them to get out - as soon as they're in Armor Lock, you either abandon them or die with a small chance of actually killing them.
Discussion of ghosts has my interest peaked It is time to break my month long Halo fast (I have no recollection of hearing really creepy music, please explain further thanks)
Typically this music plays when Ordinance has been deployed, but may go on into the round. Its rather beepy, no real rhythm or purpose, very haphazard. It often plays on Courtyard, but its played for me one other time on the map that "The Pillar Of Autumn" takes place on, and whose name escapes me. It's quite unsettling, and I find that it makes me want to quit the round. I may be just fooling myself, but I notice that this music is sometimes accompanied by Elite Rangers, but I don't know for sure. The significance of this strange and rather unfitting music has yet to be determined. Everything gets quiet too, I think the covenant forces deployed become quieter and talk less. The only thing that helps is murdering the enemies constantly to drown out the music. Im not saying that there are Ghosts Of Halo, but this music is very suspicious, as Firefight is not a creepy setting and does not fit this music, nor does the situation of receiving new weapons. If we look further into this, maybe get some Theater recordings, we can determine the reason for this creepy ass music.
You have to be stupid to not know how to counter armour lock on foot. (Hint: Wait and reload, they don't regain shields).
If you hold the button long enough, shields regen.
What killer says is true. Shields do regenerate normally in Armor Lock. It's just hard to notice because you usually use it while taking damage, and come out of AL before the regeneration period comes up. Really, I can't use Armor Lock for shit, but don't just stand there and wait for them to come out of it - keep moving around, so someone can't keep a bead on your head. Armor Lock is also very good for distracting the enemy while your allies flank or line up a shot. If there's no enemies on you when the guy comes up, be behind him and take him out as soon as he comes out.
I'm actually kind of surprised. The MLG playlist is pretty fun, at least in terms of gameplay. But the whiny, annoying, elitist douchebags definitely ruin it. Lately I've just been muting everyone that has a microphone when I go into it.
Only had the chance to play 1 game so far, it was oddball. I'm not that much of a fan of oddball, so maybe I should play it a bit more to really find out if it plays well.
anyone know the name of the song?
If you hold the button long enough, shields regen.
No they don't. They only start to regenerate AFTER you leave armour lock. I should know I use it all the time. Armour lock stops you from regaining health and shields but makes you invulnerable.
If anyone else knows anything else about what im talking about, please tell me. 2007- A group of halo fans on the internet open a website (I don't remember everything about the name, I'm probably off on it) called "Halo: Legends" (Not related to the anime) that would house their multiplayer oriented fan game of the same name, they plan for a 2008 release. 2008- "Halo: legends" delayed until 2009. "Microsoft files a copyright on the name "Halo: legends". The guys at the website change the name of their creation to "Halo: The Sacred Woods" (dumb name, but they had to change or face M$'s wrath). 2009- Website dissapears without a trace, without any pre warning (It became a GoDaddy generic page, presumably creators couldn't fund the site anymore), team behind fan game is hard to find on the internet, and people who do find them are met with people who don't want to talk about it anymore, sometimes not even acknowledging the never released creation, or occassionally someone who says that "They arn't going to talk about it". 2010- All references to site gone. Almost noone knows about it. Anyway, the only name I remember is "Monoxide" which appears to be a cliche, and its impossible to find the right monoxide. All I know about him is that he has a hobby of making a lot of useful PC apps and he had a now shutdown site called "Monoxide's corner" Again, if you have any info, please tell me.
Sorry to bump this post, but I was part (okay, still am part) of a halo modding forum that's been around since basically halo PC/CE came out. Anyhow-- Monoxide, assuming it's the right monoxide, is the guy who basically made the most oft-used "hacking" tools for halo PC (not custom edition)-- in fact, his name is still credited on HMT v3.5-- http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=725 ; he was also very deeply involved with halo CE and I believe some early H2V modding as well. He, Lightning, and a few others were really prominent in their circles at that time. Not sure what happened to him after that. If you want to know, you might want to ask around a bit on Modacity.net; I'm sure someone there remembers him.
