Don't get me wrong, speed runs are cool and all. But don't you think you could have done something more practical?

You know you don't need to watch this video. There's lots of single segment speedruns if you want to watch those.
All settings are default. sv_airaccelerate was removed from the Orange Box console. I'm not sure how to change friction.
You can do that with Sourcemod.
You've got some real art skills, UnrealCanine, I'll give you that.
That pistol wall painting was truly impressive.

To many people, your 11,559 posts in the span of 5 years have provided less entertainment than this 1 and a half hour long video.
This is bloody impressive, but is this really hard difficulty? They don't seem to be taking much damage but they are jumping around like crazy so the enemies can barely hit them.

If you're comparing to HL1, HL2 is a lot easier overall on hard difficulty.

Looks like hard to me.
The anti-gravity physics prop surfing glitch is so awesome.

man people doing stuff in free time to entertain people pisses me off too! we should band together and make every person have a 24/7 job, because who needs freetime, we need producitivity!

and quicksaving isnt a cheat, its kind of a base game feature.
Do you guys plan to do EP 1, EP 2 and other games? I would actually watch this stuff, mainly with Commentary.

They've already made EP1 run.

Nothing on EP2 though. Yet.

I wanted one with Commentary though, it was interesting with it.
Damn should have waited for the commentary version. When playing through half-life games though, if your not careful you'll find yourself abusing quick save a lot which can ruin the game.
An expert on theoretical physics breaking all of the laws of them.
The best.

That's why they're theoretical. He's just doing his job.
Not sure if anybody mentioned this, but at 38:13, the player shoudl've died. Matmo wasdown to 1hp and took a hit from the Zombie Torso.

It "hit the wall" apparently.

Does it even play the hitsound when Zombies hit the wall?
I can't remember, been a really long time since I play HL2.

Yes, they do.

No. They don't.

Why the disagrees? I was saying that the sounds do play when the zombies hit the walls, you saw it in the video above.

It's hitting the door. I just posted the video to show that they didn't have god or buddha on.
Watched it earlier today
damn right impressed. I tried to ABH after the entire video but failed.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread that accelerated jumping was disabled with the Orange Box update.
It was mentioned earlier in this thread that accelerated jumping was disabled with the Orange Box update.
I think there's a new way to do it. What you're referring to is the old Bunnyhopping. Accelerated gives it a whole new meaning.
Wiki page explains ABH as (exactly word to word):
When you exceed the game's speed limit (320 units per second), the game automatically slows you down as soon as you land by taking off a certain amount of your speed needed to get back to 320 ups. By default the game thinks that you're moving forwards, so when you exceed the speed limit, it'll try to push you the opposite direction from where you are facing to slow you down. If you are traveling backwards, this will only give you more speed. So, the more ups you're above the speed limit - the more force the game will apply to you - the more speed you'll get.
I haven't got a damn clue how to do it :v:
All you have to do is:
Run forward (you don't need to sprint but it makes the initial speed faster)
Do a 180 while Jumping and hold crouch
Keep jumping like you would if you were to bunny hop

Ah, thanks for correcting me. I guess I had gotten misinformed or misread something. Also, since this is a topic about the speedrun, imagine seeing Gordon smash his head through the ceiling and press a button in Nova Prospect.
And yeah, I can confirm ABH myself, I jumped the gap without getting the jeep. :P

Yeah, noscope that shit!
