Loved all of them, but I prefered Rollercoast Tycoon only in one regard and that was that it felt more personal sort of, like the people in your park seemed more lively and well it's hard to explain.
2 and 1 you don't get that with little 2D blocks. They need to find a soft spot between the graphics imo, but Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 was pretty poor in many other regards so that itself is what really needs fixing.
I never played 1, only 2 and 3. Loved 2, 3 wasn't that good, but not bad. Is 1 really all that good?
Think of 1 as RCT 2 with less rides, but with unlockable campaigns (around 100 with the expansion pack)
I got RCT1 in a Lucky Charms cereal box, bought RCT2 and the expansion packs (Wacky Worlds and Time Twister something right? I forgot if those were the only ones) then I got RCT3 Gold for Christmas and the Wild! expansion pack a year later (fuck you, shooting the guests with animal tranquilizers from a helicopter is fun).
If RCT4 was actually made, it'd have to be 3D but less cartoony, and should have the option of toggling between the blimp-view and an isometric view.

What's all this with people getting the game in a cereal box?
I bought the game with my own damn money.
I got it from a friend.
Who got it in a cereal box.
I loved RCT 3
I like how people complain about the graphics in RCT3, but love the graphics of RCT2, and last time I checked, 3D is quite the step up from 2D isometric, cartoonish or not.

That's not the point. It's a matter of preference and a lot of people seemed to like isometric better.
I liked RCT2 best just because it felt a lot more intuitive and smooth than RTC3.

This and I didn't feel adding 3d models really added anything to the game other than lag and frame rate drops.

Giraffes are fucking hardcore.
We need rewards for being a sadistic prick.
Like a laser beam that burns/melts things in critical points for maximum awesome.
Or better yet, using a net to put people on display in the petting zoo, or force them into slavery to operate the deadly machinery that populates the park.
:chef:
I just hope its more like RCT2. That one was much better than the third one.
I just hope its more like RCT2. That one was much better than the third one.
No it wasn't.
Make guests killable again.
That is all.
No it wasn't.
Telling someone not to think something isn't going to achieve anything (not here at least), and your opinion is that of a very small minority.
I also believe RCT2 was the best of the series, with RCT3 coming up far short.
And for Ultra-Realistic coasters, No-Limits wins that.
Tell them, that what would make me rush out and buy it, would be them releasing... that's all it takes.
I remember getting #2 in a cereal box :downs:
I remember the first games retail box that was as big as a cereal box :downs:.

All early games came in Huge boxes. Infact , I've got a "Crusader : No Remorse" box full of manuals from that kind of games. I even realised I had Half Life : Day One...
I've still got the RCT1 box in a cupboard under a sink :smug:
Remember RCT2's main theme? Oh my god, let me see if I can find it.

It's quite upsetting that such fantastic games were eventually reduced to being freebies in cereal boxes.
:frown:
Bring back Sandbox and put it on steam and you got my buy.

Where did Sandbox go? It's been in every game since the first.
As long as Chris Sawyer is working on it (He created RCT 1 and 2, but was not involved in 3) I'll be interested.
I doubt it. Atari fucked him over and didn't pay him properly and took his game pretty much.

No it wasn't. It was only properly introduced in the 3rd one.
God, didn't RC 1 have a bunch of levels based of US, UK & EU parks? I loved that... /nostalgia
Shame RC2 had to go get themselves sponsored by Six Flags...I'd much prefer Blackpool Beach any day ^_^
EDIT: FYI, reinstalling now...
I'm willing to bet that those of you who say you'd rather have isometric again would be the first to complain how restrictive it is.
I'd like to have an option to switch, I'd like to use both.

Reinstalled my deluxe edition a while back, got to virtually play Blackpool Pleasure beach, which is only half a mile away
Obvious repost for every RCT thread because it's quite possibly my favourite game series:
