You're contradicting yourself. You can't get into character if the character has no personality.
I expected something enlightening and I got stupid shit that doesn't even have anything to do with your first paragraph. Personally I am much more excited and involved with DS games than console ones. lol at your game with friends shit, good luck playing single-player RPGs or something and not boring the hell out of each other.
You're contradicting yourself. You can't get into character if the character has no personality.
Behaviour and methodology =/= personality. Go try to be retarded else where
And wow what the fuck with step 3 this isn't Full Metal Jacket, it's a game.
BioShock anyone? Even though everyone says it's System Shock 2 it's still a great game. I just finished the new Minerva's Den and it's a favourite. Anyways OP, multiplayer isn't everything and difficulty can distract you. Getting into character is almost impossible if you know nothing about them. And being the weapon doesn't relate to the game too much. Like others have said, your guide is geared toward mainstream games like Halo and the Call of Duty series.
It's not System Shock 2, System Shock 2 is a good game. :smug:
Wellllllll- BioShock is System Shock 2-lite. So, I don't see how you can like one and hate the other (well, maybe dislike SS2 cause it's a little dated)
Bioshock is like one of the highest-rated games of all time on PC. If it's on sale on Steam around Christmas I really need to get it.
No, it really isn't.
...Um, yes, it really is? [editline]02:01AM[/editline] In before baww no one cares about critics I don't care and if you seriously think that you're stupid.
There arn't really that many good games. I only have 4 fantastic games in my gaming experience: Mass Effect 1 and 2, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption.
There's your problem then. All those games are easy.
8.0 isn't remarkable in the PC game catalogue.
...Um, yes, it really is? [editline]02:01AM[/editline] In before baww no one cares about critics I don't care and if you seriously think that you're stupid.
MetaCritic means jack shit nowadays, they used to be an unbiased reviewer but now they're not very reliable. I personally thought Bioshock was boring as fuck, and don't get me started on the sequel.
MetaCritic means jack shit nowadays, they used to be an unbiased reviewer but now they're not very reliable. I personally thought Bioshock was boring as fuck, and don't get me started on the sequel.
You're so wrong, bro. So wrong
Listening to game critics is like listening to movie critics without watching the movie first, it's their opinion, not yours.
Red Dead is a western GTA 4 is GTA 3 is GTA 2 is GTA. The formula hasn't changed since the first game man. I've played and owned each of those two.
You clearly haven't played Red Dead.
...Um, yes, it really is? [editline]02:01AM[/editline] In before baww no one cares about critics I don't care and if you seriously think that you're stupid.
Honestly, scores mean shit, I prefer to actually read what the reviewer has to say about the game, and then if I'm interested, I play it and see for myself. I tell you, it's completely common for me to read a bunch of positive reviews from metacritic's review compilations, then go play the game and be left wondering what drug the reviewers were shooting themselves up with when they wrote the review. Look at Fallout 3, that game got 80+ on average, yet it's probably one of the most ass awful games I've ever played, it isn't like it's the kind of game doesn't appeal to me, open world RPGs are some of my favourite games, but that game was just downright terrible and Bethesda should be ashamed of themselves. The day I realised Fallout 3 scored well in game reviews, was the day I lost faith in game reviews. But enough about Fallout 3 being bad, Bioshock wasn't that bad, it was just an incredibly mediocre shooter with false RPG elements, which satirically poked fun at it's lack of choice via the story, but an incredible art direction. As a game, it was just a meh tier shooter with a story that failed to inspire, intrigue or draw you in, and powers that you never actually find a reason to use past the initial testing it out phase because the electric shock ability is all you'll ever need anyway. It should have tried to be more like System Shock 2. A lot more like SS2.
You clearly haven't played Red Dead.
Agreed.
MetaCritic means jack shit nowadays, they used to be an unbiased reviewer but now they're not very reliable. I personally thought Bioshock was boring as fuck, and don't get me started on the sequel.
How can a website that takes the reviews from major reviewers and finds the average be biased? It has an average score of 94.44% on GameRankings, too. Say what you want, but they didn't both ignore every negative review ever, because everybody loved it. And if there's some freelance reviewer who didn't like it he or she shouldn't be considered as a critic on either of these sites. [editline]09:07AM[/editline]
Listening to game critics is like listening to movie critics without watching the movie first, it's their opinion, not yours.
All opinions aren't equal and hopefully they took classes and know what they're talking about. Most of the time they're right. [editline]09:08AM[/editline]
You might not like it, there's a bunch of games that are supposedly great but that I dislike, like the Half-Life series and Deus Ex. I don't know about Fallout 3 because I never played it but personal tastes have little to do about the value of a game. [editline]09:11AM[/editline]
There's your problem then. All those games are easy.
GTA IV isn't easy and I haven't played the others. It's like with HAWX, I love flight games and I wish there was more of them but if you ask half of the average gaming populance they'll scream and say it's an arcadey piece of shit and look at the review it got from <website>
Scores mean shit if you don't want to buy shitty games, stop thinking that it's all about opinion and all that crap because it's not.
Dude, journalism classes are how to report and review. They're not "How to be right when you like a game" classes. I have a feeling you're very young and very naïve [editline]02:29PM[/editline] I never buy games based on review scores. I base them on intrigue. And I rarely buy games anyway.
This guide doesnt help me at all.
There arn't really that many good games. I only have 4 fantastic games in my gaming experience: Mass Effect 1 and 2, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption.
Lol you are 12.
You might not like it, there's a bunch of games that are supposedly great but that I dislike, like the Half-Life series and Deus Ex. I don't know about Fallout 3 because I never played it but personal tastes have little to do about the value of a game.
No, you see, I don't look at games from a "I didn't like it so it MUST be shit" perspective, I'm able to appreciate the quality of games that I really don't enjoy, simply because I won't let myself be so stupid as to think that my own opinion is objective truth. As such I usually end up after playing a game, with both my own opinion on the game and an idea of the general quality separate from my own opinion, there are a few gaming greats that I myself don't like, but that I will admit are good games themselves, they just don't appeal to me. But when it comes to mediocre/plain bad games, I am not afraid to point out that they are in fact, mediocre/bad.
I'll keep to my own rule: "If you want to play better at one game, learn it and master it."
I won't let myself be so stupid as to think that my own opinion is objective truth.

But when it comes to mediocre/plain bad games, I am not afraid to point out that they are in fact, mediocre/bad.
uhm
:objection: There is clearly a contradiction!
Wheres the ZING rating when you need it?
I don't see anything wrong with this advice. I think it can be simplified as "You might be playing the game wrong." So it would be something like: 1- Raise the difficulty 2- Change your methodology 3- Try to understand the artist's "vision" and stay in character 4- Play with friends If the game still isn't fun, well, you might still be doing it wrong... but the game might also just be bad. As for opinions on games... though I think Riutet has been fanning some flames, I do have to agree on the point that you can dislike a game but still see the merit of it. Halo is not a bad series. It's certainly not great and gets much undeserved attention, but it isn't OMFG TERRIBLE. It CAN be fun. As we all know, not every game the critics say is good is actually good. In the past, merely average games were rated 5. Then they were rated 7. Now they're rated 8. A game rated 10 now could be as average as GTA4 or as masterful as Thief. Game ratings mean NOTHING. I have a challenge for those of you who trust the ratings. Get the collected movie ratings for the next month and use those to judge which movies you should see. SEE ALL THE MOVIES RATED 9 OR 10. Prepare to be disappointed by movies that are merely average but got reviews paid for by the publisher. It happens a LOT more than you think. Tabarnaco, from the perspective of a guy who has played PC games for 15 years, Bioshock is merely average. Please STFU.
More like, worse gaming
uhm
Yes it is possible to form an opinion one way or the other-less view of the quality of a game, one that is simply knowledge of what a game does well, of what a game does not do so well and other such fluff, also what a game does well and does not do well relative to other games. If you don't believe this is possible, then it's likely you're one of those people who cries everything is subjective whenever they can't argue one way or the other.
