I finally found someone with White because my Black city was so damn empty but for some reason he can entralink into my world straight away yet I can't seem to connect to his at all. Might it have something to do with the fact that he's only at the third gym?
We tried swapping DSs and he could still connect to mine but I couldn't connect to his.

it came with three holographic cards, including a Charizard :buddy: the other two are a Venusaur and a Blastoise

Pokeballs are indeed strange. How exactly did Apricorns catch pokemon back in the day? What do the Pokemon do inside a Pokeball? We have so many pokemon that can actually talk (Meowth, Mewtwo, Slowbro(movie).) Why can't someone explain to me wtf is with Pokeballs in the first place?

Team Rocket's Meowth has never has been in a pokeball if I remember correctly, in the first movie Mewtwo also wasn't kept in a pokeball in it's captivity with Team Rocket (hooked up to electronics instead) and a correction on that last one, it's a Slowking and fuck if I know how that one manages to talk (telepathy like Lugia?) but there's no indication it's anything other than a wild pokemon.

No but it's just something that's been bugging me for years. I mean..do they get hungry inside those pokeballs? Are they even, by any definition, alive? Or are they "beamed" (Star Trek reference) into the pokeball, and then reappear later?

If I remember correctly there was a tidbit at the end of one show that showed what a pokemon did inside a pokeball. Original series
