what the shit how does a flamethrower 1HKO against a ground type.
Interesting... Archeops can actually learn Fly, and it's capable of learning Earthquake.
Hell of a bird Pokemon.
[editline]WAT[/editline]
It learns dig!
:wtc:
[editline]aaa[/editline]
Welp, here's my final moveset:
Dragon Pulse (All of the Archens I'm handing out have this)
Dragon Claw (Maybe dig instead if I decide to be a dick)
Fly
Earthquake
Haha fuck. I never trained up Archeops because I assumed the Pokedex entry meant it wouldn't be able to learn Fly.
So what's your trainer card quote guys? Mine is "I wonder if BABY tastes nice..."
So what's your trainer card quote guys? Mine is "I wonder if BABY tastes nice..."
Mine is "You're BORED, aren't you?"
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
in the north american version I'll make it "I want to SLEEP with YOU"
So my in-training team for Elite Four is
- Braviary lv58
- Bisharp lv52
- Mienshao lv50
- Beheeyem ??
- Leavanny ??
- ??
Cross referencing all their strengths, it appears they have no weakness as a whole, but are rather lacking in the putting out fires department. The question is, who becomes my 6th? I'm tempted to bring back my Beartic, because he was my surfer, but he's obviously an ice type and weak to fire. All the water types are so horrible this gen though, and I got the Archen/Archeops fossil rather than the Tortoise one.
I should start playing Pokemon games more "Gotta catch 'em all" rather than slowly building a team over the course of the game (I only caught my 6th Pokemon in the game just before the Pokemon League)...
FUCKING TRANQUILLS
AIR-SLASH-FLINCH
AIR-SLASH-FLINCH
DETECT
DETECT
AIR-SLASH-FLINCH
followed by more detects and MORE FLINCHING
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO LET ANY POKEMON AN AI HAS USE DETECT OR PROTECT
BECAUSE I AM GOING TO FUCK THEM WITH A TOILET BRUSH
god the fuck damnnn
Yeah the developers went a little crazy with the critical hit and flinching ratio
Ahh fucking fuck, I'm trying to train a Meinfoo since it's evo looks pretty awesome, but I'm just flying back and forward to the pokemon center trying to train it, so far it's just getting 1HKO'd by WILD pokemon of the same level using attacks of the same type
Does anyone have any idea what I should do with all these mushrooms I'm finding on the game?

I'm pretty sure you can sell them to the lady before the bridge to Driftveil city, in the caravan. There might be a better person to sell them to though.
Caught a Diglett and named it Digstep.
"MAGNITUDE 9! WOBWOBWOBWOBWOBW"
And it feels so good every time a Magikarp evolves into a Gyarados.

There's an expensive and easy way of training Pokemon, depending on where you are. If you have access to the route above Opelucid City (Route 9/10?)
1. Buy 30 Max Repels and a few Hyper Potions just in case.
2. Go to said route.
3. Use your Max Repel, get on your bike, and then move around on the patch of grass at the start of the route.
4. When a shaking patch appears, ride onto it.
5. Audino appears! Weak to fighting, Jump Kick or Drain Punch it, dies very easily.
6. Crap tons of experience
7. Make sure to use another Max Repel as soon as one runs out.
You can equip a Lucky Egg for bonus exp too. I trained my Mienshao this way.
Oh god. You know you've lost your touch when for the first time in the series Ace Trainers on Victory Road are teaching you how to play the game. I think I'm going to have to do a reshuffle of my team before the E4.

Leavanny is good, and you should put in another guy with the ability to use bug type moves. Honestly your team is slightly overleveled for your first run through the E4

I've decided to go with Stunfisk. They're slightly overlevelled because they all don't evolve till 50+, Braviary especially at lv54.

Understandable of course, i have a Braviary myself. I simply didn't know about the other ones, but would assume if you needed Braviary, you wanted to keep the team in the same level range. But you shouldn't have too much trouble. Leavanny can likely wipe up the dark and psychic users, Braviary with fighting, and bisharp for ghost.
Any advice on who I should swap out or any TM's to teach these guys:
L.49 Reuniclus (OH GOD WHY IS HIS SPEED SO SHIT)
L.49 Pawniard
L.43 Servine
L.45 Krokorok
L.49 Darmanitan
L.41 Eelektrik
I hardly use my Eelektrik in battle to be fair, so he's the one I'd be least torn about boxing.
Not EV trained, didn't bother looking for good natures. I basically did an Ash and was just happy catching one for the first time. If you want me to post the current movesets just say.
How do I get to Lenora, after the sweets book?

base speed 22 or something like that, use it with trick room RAAAAAPPEEE
base speed 22 or something like that, use it with trick room RAAAAAPPEEE
If I have a quick claw on it would that negate the Trick Room effect? By the time I get it out there I could be 1HKO'd by a physical.
no quick claw doesn't do anything to your speed, it just makes you move first (occasionally) regardless of field effects, status effects, or just normal speeds. It essentially just adds a priority, a priority that can't be outsped for any reason, unless prevent/detect was used, then i'm not sure.
Wow, just noticed that Mismagius has a 60/60/60/105/105/105 spread. Not so shitty now.

Shame it's ugly :smith:

Aargh pfft can't get Trick Room until after E4.
^ That's why I ditched my duosion before I he could evolve, shame really since his next Reuncilus looked pretty cool
Does anyone know how the eggs work on this game? I mean, is it like the others where they hatch after X amount of steps? Because I'm starting to think it's stages are being triggered by the events in the story since I've been zipping up and down on my bike and nothing, but after I got my 8th badge it was "noises can be herd occasionally. It may be close to hatching"

I'd drop pulse, even though you bred them with it and go with dragon claw because of the higher attack stat, acrobatics if you're not going to give it an item (so 110 base power) obviously fly is crap but if you're using it in your party then you've gotta make cuts for HMs annoyingly.
Personally I think I'm gonna run
Dragon claw
Rock Slide
Acrobatics
Rest
Holding a chesto berry so I can chesto rest then use acrobatics to full power.

It improves your priority, there's +7 and -7 prioritys but I can't seem to see quick claw on there, unless it counts as "using item" in which case it's +6 and so only beatable by pursuit. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Priority
I read on smogon that if a pokemon is holding a quick claw (or any item that affects speed like lagging tail), it ignores the effects of Trick Room.
Oh Mr. 1/4 Life, I would like one of them Archens. But not today, tomorrow is a for sure.
Wow, loving the storm effects when chasing down Thunderous! I thought it would rain at most
