you could consider replacing eelektross with zebstrika (sorry salty), it fills a similar role, and you should be able to draw an electric attack to boost it with with feraligatr or archeops

I also have a shiny Krookodile. I prefer the shiny version to the regular however, and Krookodile is a pretty fantastic pokemon once you have it levelled up.

I don't think I ever liked a Pokemon on the first play through than I did Krookodile. It kicks ass.

You're really missing out on dedicated special attackers and more defensive Pokemon.
