What are the military applications of Pokemon? I'm confused as to what exactly the world is like. Apparently it's a mirror of our world as the Pokemon locations mimic real locations such as Japan, obviously. Humans landed on the moon in 1969 in the Pokemon world as well, not to mention they possess most of our inventions (Although as the series go on the world gets more deluded with bullshit like Pikachu power-plants)
Now if we assume that the Pokemon world is based after the same countries as our world. The Soviet Union had to exist in the Pokemon world. After all, it was the USSR that motivated the US Space Race and landed men on the moon. Pokemon exist all over the globe and most of them are unique to their territory (The US has different Pokemon over Japan.) So what do you think the Soviets did? Hell what did the other countries do? Where have pokemon fit into human's evolution and major events. Did we have Pokemon fighting in World War 2? Do nuclear weapons exist? Apparently nuclear power exists because a Nuclear Power Station in Japan is modeled in the game.
We also see practical application of pokemon in civil sectors. I already mentioned power production. But we also have pokemon whom produce wool and milk although where beef and such comes in is a mystery as I haven't seen any 'normal' animals. The Police use pokemon in law enforcement. The use of pokemon in the military was probably considered and I believe it likely.
Guns also exist in the pokemon world. Although very rarely spotted, most likely because most of the series and games take place in Japan where firearms are restricted so even the police don't carry them. Although there have been a few moments where they've made an appearance. Vehicles? As shown countless times exist. So what exactly would the pokemon serve in defense of a nation? They're kind of limited in force, a lot of them have very specific traits and they require food, water and rest like any person but the amount of resources it takes to train and equip a pokemon could probably be better spent arming actual human beings
I don't really know where I'm going with this. All I know is the Pokemon world is all kinds of fucked up. The word 'animal cruelty' never seemed to catch on since dog-fighting is essentially a international sport and a game in the Olympics. Is the world some sort of all encompassing peaceful utopia? They possess technology that can literally heal injured Pokemon in seconds (How often do Pokemon die in matches and what are the legal repercussions of people killing Pokemon and vice versa?) If they possess this advance technology you can basically assume that it's also put to use healing people as well so the field of medicine has far exceeded that of our own world in advancement at his point which is anywhere from the 1990's-Current by estimation of most of their technology.
What?
[editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
Upon further reflection where do groups like Team Rocket fit in? At this point they're literally domestic terrorists. Why is there no concise, organized effort to arrest the guys who run around in full black with big red R's on their shirts?
They can literally stand on the street and guard buildings in the middle of cities and be unopposed by anyone.

I enjoyed reading that.
Going to go on GTS Negotiation later today, packing 30 Tepigs and 4 Larvestas. Aiming to get all the starters from all generations eventually.
So I cruised through the 7th gym like it didn't exist with a level 34 Pignite. By the end of the gym it Evolved. I was happy.
Caitlin sweeps my entire team.. that damn sigilyph!

Levels aren't set in place as of now, I'm going to be training them until they're 45-50 or more. I don't want a complete revamp, but I don't feel like I have the proper offense against the weird types of the Elite Four. Help is super appreciated!
Bolded moves are redundant, you only need one of each on each pokemon. Teach Victini Psychic, Sawk is going to be useless against ghosts, and if you get rid of the redundant moves you can look at TMs etc so you can get perfect type coverage. Currently you have nothing to counter Dragon types.
I'm promising myself I won't look at the Pokemon for generation 6. It sorta spoiled B/W for me, because I could remember quite a few of the final evolutions and I was always catching those that I wanted to have eventually, rather than just going "oh hey that one looks cool!" and catching it.

I looked at them all before it came out but I still adherd to a "catch everything new you see" rule, so that I don't end up at the elite four with like 12 caught including evolutions.
Found red on a flea market for 12,50 everything included, there were even stickers in the manuel.
It took me 2 weeks to run through (playing an hour a day max or somtimes none) But one thing struck me as odd, as a child you instinctively know what to do somehow. I had to look up certain stuff now and I just cruised through the whole game as an 8 year old.
Though the elite four was a real disappointment, all of my pokemon were level 47 except for zapdos (50) and haunter (37) and i beat them all easily. The only hard part was garry with his hypnosis, that killed all my pokemon except haunter. Haunter magicly defeated the hypnosis pokemon of level 62 and defeated blastoise of level 65, from now on Haunter is my favorite pokemon.
Reading 4chans vp thread consisting of entries of pokemon from a sexual standpoint.

It's cause I can't connect to wifi.
I think Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny and that new Battle Club Manager are all Pokemon. There is no logical explanation.
The only big cartridge games that didn't work on the original Gameboy were the ones that had a bump instead of the indentation above the title sticker. Cartridges with an indentation work on Gameboys, bumps need to be played on Color and above.
Yellow and Silver were indentations. Crystal was a bump
could this mean that they'll do the third version for 3ds? if they made crystal only playable on the new console, they could make grey only playable on the new one too

Also, [sp]How can I level that pokemon that you're given at the beggining when you're about to battle the first gym and you're either given fire, water or grass type depending on your first pokemon pick, I got a grass type one but it's so useless it constantly faints. I caught a fire one aswell to see if it's any better.[/sp]
you honestly dont need to train it, just send it out against theirs and spam your super effective move. barring crits, win guarrenteed.
GTS Negotiations so far
Traded away: Tepig x 4, Larvesta x1
Got: Shiny Tortouga, Zorua, Panpour, Servine, Archen
I turned down a shiny Feraligatr which was obviously hacked. I wasn't sure about the Tortouga but it looks legit.

I need some help. Im going to be facing the elite four and N after that soon. I want a good dragon type, there are so many though. The three I am considering are Deino, Axew, and Druddigon. I wanna know which one will be the best for E4 and N's castle and why.
druddigon 4 lyfe

It seemed like my favorite choice but what should I EV train it in?
[editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
Actually I know what to train it in.
EV training for in-game?
You sinner.
Gonna try to get Black next week.
Going Daisy Duke Chick, Snivy, and by end game I will have a Lv72 Basculin, the most manly version of Magikarp yet.
I would like to see somebody successfully utilize a Basculin on their team
but, red or blue?
it's an important decision
EV training for in-game?

Hah, I've never EV trained before but I definitely want to have a strong enough team for E4 and on. Its the first time where I've actually started paying attention to the moves they learn and determining which stats I actually want to get better in.
[editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
Also how do I get hidden power? Even though I've seen 100+ pokemon, professor refuses to give it to me.

Hah, same for me when it comes to playing Pokemon again. Except I haven't been counting EVs at all :/
