The DS I am going to be using for Pokemon isin't mine. How exactly does Trading work now ( Do I still need that shitty cable) or is there other methods ?

With a friend, you can trade wirelessly using infrared, and global trading using wifi

You can trade with anyone over the net as long as you have a connection. Or if you're trading with a friend with another DS, no cable is needed.

To be more precise, the Pokemon's IVs (Individual Values). So training or giving Carbon and that sort of stuff won't change it.
Also, the IVs both change Hidden Power's type and base power. The formula is a bit complicated, and you probably won't really need it (there are also some calculators and such), but here it is anyway.

You should keep a chart when you're EV training considering there's no way to tell how many EVs you have unless you talk to the person who gives you the Effort Ribbon, who only awards you that if all 510 EVs are used, which I dunno where that person is in B/W or if there even is one. I don't know why there wouldn't be though..
Yeah, i usually have a calculator handy, know what i'm farming, see its values upon fainting, calculate how many it would take to max out (252 EVs) and then hit the minus one on the first guy, then for each consecutively hit the equals button.
I've only done it successfully on two pokemon, a houndoom, and an aerodactyl. They turned out fantastic.

If youre lazy, you can just kill about 100 Vanillites, since you can only go up to 255 EVS in one stat. Sure, 252/252/4 is better then 255/255, but one is easier and lazier to do.

That is the chart I've made for when I EV train Pokemon that use a 252/252/4 spread
The first, lonely box is where I put "Equip <whatever bracer>"
The 50 boxes are for each Pokemon I kill (always 1 EV from that Poke) because the 1 EV + 4 = 5.
I then take off whatever bracer I'm using and kill 2 because 50 x 5 = 250 + 2 = 252 then repeat for the other stat. The other six you see are the whatever extra little stat boost you want.
