Put your render distance down to normal see if that helps.

get a better pc, else get a better internet connection, else scan for viruses, and if that doesn't work, email notch.

Alright, my first night just started, i have two wood swords, five wood picks, a stone sword and a stone pick.
I've holed myself up in a cave with only one entrance. Will I survive? :ohdear:
EDIT: ooh, found a lot of iron ore to use during the day. if I survive.

Zombies burn in daylight but creepers don't.
Remember anything can spawn in dark at any time
And creepers make no footsteps or idle sounds.

I just spawned on top of it in one of my games, around a LOT of sand, so, try digging/looking near sand.
They're usually near water with sand. Sometimes it can be hidden by sand as well.
