Fucking I always cut a small hole to jump into a cave and toss a torch up, but as soon as I do a mob will sideswipe me into a corner and I wont be able to jump back out because of the small entrance or pull a weapon out quick enough. :saddowns:

Not going to waste my coal on smelting that, besides, I haven't really explored the outside yet, I only go out to chop wood and kill some pigs, I only mine otherwise.

I heard it's something to do with grass? Should I just go out and cobble the outside?
Serious question:
I have procured a bunch of redstone dust and need something to do with it. most things you can do with it seem kind of pointless, so is there anything not pointless I can do with it? (I don't have any TNT so I can't really make any kind of thing with that)

I think they spawn on dirt tiles that have grass on top of them, meaning that if you want them to spawn in a house just lay down dirt and wait for grass to grow.

I set up a cobblestone watchtower and I'm holding up there for the night, to see if I can spot some spiders to make a bow.
