Of course, but what's the point of all that. There's pressure plates of course, and it looks very nice too.
It smelts 100 blocks for some reason, why it isn't a power of eight I don't know but that's what it accumulates to.

Also a fuck load of SMP fixes.
The compass seems to point either southwest or south. If Notch makes it work a little better it'll be very useful.

If you take the lava bucket out and put it back in the furnace does its remaining use return to maximum?

How is it useless? It's the same principle as a real compass. Just think your spawn is the magnetic north pole
I would say it would be pretty usefull for finding your way back to your base.
Can you power minecarts with lavabuckets?

On an infinite world that doesn't work that well, he should have oriented it based on the sun, with an infinite north pole that you can't reach.
right now it's a beacon, if you could at least create the beacons, it would be a lot better.

I love mob spawners, I hate spiders.
So much. I attempted to block the entrance to the Mob Spawning room with a few blocks and the spider jumped through before I could even block it fully. Got pissed off, went back and picked up a bucket of Lava and flooded the little room with the spawner. Without a doubt, they were converted to Communism.

Making tunnels oriented a certain way will be easier with a compass pointing to true north.
