I played peacefull for a damn long while, i believe when i firs bought the game I set it to peacefull after being raped by a creeper, and i just recently turned it off, so i can make traps, test traps, gain loot from traps, build more traps from loot, and get more loot.
damn, minecraft repeats!
...until you decide to do something fun, such as trying to stay outside, building a new outpost and then see if you can make a tunnel between them :buddy:

plus, it makes you to be able to acces the water quickly, for when building a trap, or if you want to make a base out in the ocean, but do not want to walk the distance.

does anyone else think minecraft has an island-like feel, there are no huge lands, only small islands and the skybox is a huge ocean.
maybe notch add's the need to eat food, apple's become common, and if he adds the need to drink water, cacti will be sources of... uhm... well, drinkable-cacti-fluid.

no, your first few posts go... well at a rate of nothing, but when you have found an active thread, that gets a few good discussion points every hour (like this one) and have learned to just post what you think, and not just rate something, you get about 12 posts A DAY.
