Sand. You can place it from the top to fill it up, then remove it quickly with a shovel.

First, double click this:

Then press this:

Finally, choose a server and play. That's it. If it doesn't work, you have an outdated version.

Accidentally posted this in the Profan server thread, okay I may be late on this and such, but I created a new world and got this.

Has anyone seen something like this before? This was the direction I was facing when I first spawned, to the right it is like a regular world, on the left it's a snow level, no snow is falling however, any snow I remove stays gone.
Can someone link me a good persister? Mine is crashing.

Persistor is an 'addon' which saves your inventory when you are playing on multiplayer. I am personally just going to wait until Notch fixes it, but it's a good way to get ahead of everyone else.
