The minecarts are only in Alpha, but you can't use them online because multiplayer doesn't like them. It just generates a lot of gamebreaking lag and causes shit to fuck up.

Then all you need is some wire, like so

Where R is Redstone Dust and T is a Redstone torch, And B is a generic block
Make sure the torch leans off the block. The torch should be under the door that closes when it's placed.
You can try to modify it for two doors, but one pad suits me good enough.

You're going into dangerous territory with that question. The favorites are thehangovers, mineville, aerocraft, and some other one I can't be bothered to remember.
