shit i fucking liked the alpine ursa set, at least it looked baller as fuck..while not fitting. That kunkka hat I'd only want to make people laugh their fucking ass off :V
If this Kunkka hat gets in and isn't Mythical or better I'm starting a collection.
They removed alpine ursa but add that? I don't understand.
I think at this point there are more objectionable things than the Alpine Ursa set in the store. To this day, despite it being one of the most popular sets in the game, despite me owning it, I still don't think the Inscrutable Zeal set should have been accepted because if it wasn't Rubick's colors it just wouldn't look like Rubick. As far as what was added today, I just think all the sets look like shit. The Mirana set isn't bad and that set by Anuxi is fine even if I don't like her style, but everything else just looks like trash. That Deathripper courier is just...fucking awful from a preservation of style standpoint and Blotto and Stick doesn't even look that great. The Wax chest annoyed me too because every item in it looks like shit. The blade for Skeleton King looks like a 12 year old made it. In the meantime, you have stuff like everything our own Dr. Scrake has made not getting accepted. He has one of the most rated items of all time, a Spectre blade, still not in the store. His custom Pugna Nether Ward looks fantastic and it didn't get into the latest batch. He basically has a ton of great looking items that are just being ignored because they're not sets and they wanna jam as many custom made single items into chests because...well, I don't know why. That's my rant.
We all knew this was coming, it was undeniable from the start that DotA 2 was going to become the next ground-zero for TF2 items. I just wish it hadn't happened so soon.
If this Kunkka hat gets in and isn't Mythical or better I'm starting a collection.
its mythical, check on outpost

I used to not understand how people thought items ruined TF2 but if this is how it went down in TF2 then I totally get it now.
I used to not understand how people thought items ruined TF2 but if this is how it went down in TF2 then I totally get it now.
Honestly, it was worse in TF2 than it is here now. At least people are fighting for it, even if only a little. In TF2 nobody realized what was happening before it was too late and everything was already ridiculous. [editline]27th July 2013[/editline] At first, the changes are slow, but then as time goes on items got more and more retarded. The final blow was the paint, it really was. [editline]27th July 2013[/editline] If Dota gets paint, I will ram an entire freighter of C4 into Valve HQ.
GRRRRR THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY OFF A GAME GRRR HOW DARE THEY GRRRRRRR EVEN THOUGH THESE ARE ALL OPTIONAL AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAAAYYYYY FOR ANYTHING TO PLAY THE GAME. Seriously, bunch of whining people there... I bet you could retexture them into normal stuff. Don't see that many gamebreaking bugs too in-game.

[editline]27th July 2013[/editline] Like Jesus Christ, if I wanted to see shit like the Admiral's Prow I'd play League. Honestly.

If it is REALLY a bad item then people won't buy it and thus will send a message. If it is really bad that is.

I thought Valve was going to be more strict about what cosmetics they add, at the moment it seems like they've opened the floodgates again.
...I like Blotto and the Nyx set. Nyx spikes should be closer to his normal color scheme, but I don't see why spikes would be bad on a beetle.
Don't see that many gamebreaking bugs too in-game.
There are a handful of specific bugs with specific heroes and abilities still around, some which, if not fixed, make the hero far weaker than they were in DotA.
I find funny how Valve can do such a quality job sometimes and in others lets absolute, unfitting shit get into the game, like the horror Hud or the new OD set uhhgg. Also the animations of the Na'Vi Weasel/Crow make me sigh.
So Valve cannot release any items that aren't 'lore-friendly'? If it is really bad that is.
People probably will buy them because they could get immortal tho. Some players also want to have all the items no matter what they are (just look at people buying cards for steam lvl). So yours argument is irrelevant. Other things that annoy me in dota are this http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=97279 and the way they are adding content. It causes that there is no equal quality in heroes. Both in models and responses. Old heroes doesn't have dialogues to new ones for example. Also some ability icons are shit (but fortunately they seem to update those).
As long as you don't have to pay for heroes or pay for a in game advantage. I'm fine with this from a gamer point. But tbh if they want to add cosmetics then atleast make them look good and have some quality.
Im kinda worried how big the dota folder will get... I think last time I checked, TF2 was 22GB, maybe there should be an option to disable all cosmetics. Also, this shadowcat set.... (not in yet)

I think someone just wanted to realize their dream of Catgirl Drow. Side note, never noticed Drow suffered from a lack of actual pants.
I think someone just wanted to realize their dream of Catgirl Drow. Side note, never noticed Drow suffered from a lack of actual pants.
I swear it wasn't me. But seriously Drow looks really weird without a hood on.
No wonder all this shit gets in, when people spam "VALVE ADD THIS PLEASE" to every shit looking item in the workshop and upvote everything. I hope Valve realizes it somehow. For fucks sake, they even made a manual how to create items for Dota 2 and how they should look in terms of structure and colours.
The Hattening is inevitable because keeping things lore-respecting and not too flamboyant immensely reduces the possibilities. Sooner or later (but probably sooner, it's already starting) there won't be any untapped ideas that respect the "rules" (also because items have to be substantially different from one another, you can't take a Lesh stag horns and add an extra ramification to it and call it a new item). Valve can either keep it lore-respecting and lose money, or slowly (or not so slowly) relax the rules to accommodate more items. Guess how much Valve cares about the integrity of the lore when money is involved?
the qop set is pretty awful, i'll be honest. it is fucking terrible and only got in because it's na'vi's. but when it comes to horrible skins, dota 2 will never reach the level of awful hon and league have, with browser-themed skins and slenderman skins. couriers aren't really an issue because nobody really looks at them a whole lot. besides, blotto is fucking amazing. however when it comes to cosmetics, i'd rather valve added items for heroes that don't have any. puck's wings and venge's immortal are all steps in the right direction but i don't feel as though kunkka needed ANOTHER sword and i don't feel as though pudge needed ANOTHER hook. i get some heroes are being reworked and probably won't have cosmetics until their new model is done (probably viper, zeus, clockwerk, shadow fiend, bane, enigma, and veno), but there are peeps like wisp, lifestealer, treant, elder titan, and timbersaw who still don't have any items.
Not sure why Kunkka and TA get 2 sets each in this update when they could give another one to Dazzle or something for Pugna.
