I tried the demo the other day before the sale and I thought it was extremely mediocre. That, and I ran into like 3 mapping errors in the 15 minutes I played so I decided to pass.

Why don't you people wait for your favorite games go on flash sale / featured? Don't buy your game unless it's discounted even further by those or if it is the last day of the sale.
Also, did anybody notice this? The Saints Row 3 DLC also took the 75% discount. I have [I]never ever ever[/I] seen this happen in a Steam sale.
Usually, a bunch of games get a base discount, let's say 50% off. If a game has DLC, the DLC gets 50% off as well. If that game gets a flash deal, daily deal, or community vote, the game would go on sale for 75% off while the DLC remained at 50% off. Because of this, I always bought the DLC I wanted to get on the first day of the sale. So I bought the rest of the SR3 DLC as well as some New Vegas DLC I was going to get yesterday and I lost a bit of money because of it.
Moral of the story: The "DLC never goes on sale" rule has officially been voided.

Not sure where you got that rule from. In my experience, DLC almost always benefited from base game discounts.
