here is how i'd go about explaining minecraft sucks:
reason #1: it's really unappealing, graphics-wise. yeah i know it's an indy dev and maybe he's trying to be "avant-garde" or "retro-style" with his pixelized shit but honestly, it just looks like ass. i don't see how people can even dispute this point. maybe most people who play minecraft are blind?
reason #2: it's basically just a voxel editor. i used to play with lego as a kid and it was kickass. this game is like a step down from lego, there's only one size of brick. at least with games like blockland you could choose the size of your bricks, and there were more brick types resulting in really cool creations. i didn't bother playing any of the other gametypes apart from freeroam or whatever, the game just lost appeal to me within 5 minutes. like i said, it's Just A Voxel Editor, with a few gimmicks slapped on. if i had known something as simple and mundane as minecraft would take the internet by storm then i'd have done it ages ago.
i don't doubt that most people who enjoy minecraft played with lego as a kid. how the fuck can you go from lego to minecraft? it's literally a regression in every possible way, aside from the fact that it's on your computer.
i like how all the minecraft fans call people trolls for saying it's a bad game. there are plenty of valid reasons to dislike minecraft, you can't just go and dismiss an entire argument by saying the person is "a troll" or "not creative". it doesn't work that way, mates. you have your reasons for enjoying it, and we have our reasons for not wanting to play it.

Minecraft isn't for everyone. I personally love it, but I don't call people who don't dumb, because I can see why they may not like it. That said, this thread was obviously created to stir up shit, so the OP of this thread IS dumb. Especially since it was a scheme to get Survival - he asked for someone to buy it for him so he could see how bad it was. :downs:

The pixelated graphics isn't a result of the restrictions Java imposes, it's intentional. If you don't like it then tough luck, I happen to find it really quite charming.
