Are there any mods that make aeroplanes more complex?
Helicopters have a bunch of subsystems, but planes only have 'hull'.

There are no mods that overhauls planes in their functionality really. ACE does add some dynamic pippers and CCIP bombing modes for the A-10 and harrier aircraft though. There's also a plane mod for a single plane that is under development that adds a variety of working MFCDs which is really cool, I tried to look for it now but I couldn't find it.
Here's one of my latest videos where we try and reenact the Gulf War. Shit was hard, especially since we aren't used to playing with so many people (~35). We also find a method to use CASEVAC effectively through having people break their legs after being downed 2 times.

hey get on TS we're gonna maybe play 2nd's fixed fellajuah mission
Everyone I know keeps getting "Connecting Failed" none of us can host servers. None of us. Even though we did so yesterday, the day before that and the weeks before that without issue suddenly we can't join games.
try directly connecting using the modline
-connect=XX.XX.XX.XX -password=123
try directly connecting using the modline

Is that supposed to automatically connect the person into the game? Because it doesn't for the guy who tried it. For reference I'm also using Play with Six
it's going to connect to whatever IP you enter. dunno about six.
I just don't get it, there is literally no helpful information on how to fix this issue even though hundreds of people experience it.
so i'm having a problem with my tank mission
when i destroy the AA battery, the hint pops up in the center of the screen, "AA Battery destroyed!"
this is very good
but when I destroy the Artillery Headquarters and the Heavy Factory, despite having the hint messages written correctly, they still say "AA Battery destroyed!"
I guess this is not mission-breaking or anything, but it pisses me off
go to effects and check what it says on the text box
go to effects and check what it says on the text box
Shiit ok thanks,i'll check after work
Any more info on this? I have 8 gigs of ram so that should be enough to do it right? I'm guessing you're using this http://memory.dataram.com/products-and-services/software/ramdisk, could you tell us more how you set it up?
I am using http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/primo-ramdisk/index.html for the ramdisk and http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html to link the files on the ramdisk to the folder they were previously in,
if anyone wants me to make a more in-depth guide on how to do it I could.
Welp, after completely uninstalling PlaywithSix, ArmA2, ArmA2 OA, ArmA2 PMC, ArmA2 BAF and reinstalling them all along with ACE.
We're still getting the bullshit "CONNECTING FAILED" message. No one can join, out of the four of us working to fix it, despite all we've done none of us can host or join games. That's it. It's done, it's over.
We literally cannot play ArmA 2 ever again.

Have you tried asking on the Bohemia Interactive forums? :v

After reading four Google pages worth of BI threads with no useful advice, I doubt going on a forum, asking a question, being told it's in the wrong section and to use the search and than receiving no help is going to do me any good.
And it happened for all of us. Literally in the middle of a game. It's baffling.
Sounds like a port forwarding issue. Arma uses ports 2302-2305 by default.
One of the guys I play with has his ports forward correctly and none of us can join him.

There's no rhyme or reason. It happened out of the blue and to all of us. It makes no sense. No configuration between us with who's hosting seems to affect it. We all have clean installs of ArmA and three of us have our ports forwarded. None of us can join anyone, and this started happening in the middle of a mission. It makes no fucking sense.

You're in luck because ARMA 3 (alpha) comes out in 2 days

I WANT IT NOW
The wait is killing me.
ok, mission pretty much finished, only need one last thing
how do i make my end conditions so that there is a message (message already done) that stays on screen for about 10 seconds before the mission ends?
at the moment, the mission ends the second that the last objective is destroyed
I still can't get over how much that SweetFX preset that one guy posted changes the game. It's astounding.
Wow I used that for a bit now, we should just all use that, it has all the cool stuff of that pack without any of the weird barely functional wall hug crap and the weird movement.
If you do a quick unpacking of the PBO you can disable the silly WALL CHECK thing going on. You can still peek around corners but it wont check for buildings, allowing you to do it anywhere.
I made that edit a while ago and we haven't had problems.

That would be nice, please do
i've never been able to get sweetfx to work with arma 2, it either crashes on start up or just doesn't inject
Would anyone be interested in a mission where the primary objective is to gather large quantities of weapons?
Like, you're a newly formed guerrilla faction in X turbulent country, you have the men and a few vehicles but you're underarmed. HQ wants you to go gather X amount of weapons to arm new recruits. Players would start the mission at a base with really basic gear (Enfields, SKSs, Grease Guns, etc) and a few vehicles (Urals, a technical or two) and there would be a lot of marked areas on the map where enemies (desert Russians or Takis) are suspected to be. The team would go wherever and shoot everything up, and then gather weapons (both from corpses and caches) onto vehicles and bring them back to base (after keeping some of the better gear for themselves, of course). The mission could be considered complete you bring like ~150 rifles to a central cache at base or something.
Does that sound monotonous/tedious? I always thought my favorite part of things like DayZ or Wasteland was just hoarding weapons you came across at your base in the woods or whatever, and the open-endedness sounds fun to me at least. I could probably build this if anyone was interested in playing.
Would anyone be interested in a mission where the primary objective is to gather large quantities of weapons?
It would end up with at least five spontaneous ammunition cache explosions per mission, but it'd be totally worth it just for reenacting the final portion of Turban Goat. :v:
Why is the NLAW in ArmA 2 so terrible? I hit a BTR 90 in the side with it and it didn't even seem to bother it
