S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: If nobody will make it I will

I've never met a Chimera before in COP EVER. Where's a specific area I can find one?
Although, I may have been close to a chimera one day. I heard some thumpy footsteps and a cat growling in the Zaton forests one day, but I think that may have been ambience.
The footsteps followed me back to the cargo boat though. :ohdear:
You can only really meet them at night. I've only encountered one that wasn't in part of a mission and that was near the gas station in Zaton. I didn't fight it though because I was at a good distance and didn't feel like being a hero. They're a lot less rare in mods so try a few of them out.
They're all over Jupiter for me in vanilla, although this was only after you do all of Trapper's missions
Haven't seen any in SGM, and not up to Jupiter in Redux, but I know that I will find them in both mods.
So Zaton in Redux has Chimeras.
I occasionally get jumped by a Chimera in Pripyat every once in a while during the day, but never in the night.
The scraping and the banging. It had been going on for hours. We were trapped here - three old men in a dimly lit room, five stories beneath the ground and trapped by a horde of flesh eating, brainless zombies who sought no other goal in their existence then to feed, and our little party was the main course. We were sent in here in search of valuable information and documents about psy research, since the whole facility in the time period between 1990 and 2012 was dedicated to active research and study about the theme, only when the blowout that completely changed the world the facility, at least officialy, was more or less ''shut down''.
Much of the staff was up topside when the emission hit and so they had nowhere to run, they could only look at their doom as a huge wave of fiery death approached them, roaring like a thousand thunder strikes - most of the poor souls were incarinated on the spot, only shriveled, black corpses remaining, while the unluckiest surivived with horrifying burns and roamed the area as mindless shells of their former past, their clothes in tatters and faces unrecognizable. The rest of the Science staff remained holed up in the underground labratory, using whatever food they could scrounge in the cafeteria and the damn bastards actually survived and continued their experiments, activley contacting and sending reports to the main research lab back in Kiev.
So they had been working until a feek weeks back, when a massive wave of Zombies overtook the entire sector - it seemed as all the brainless bastards in the Zone were converging on the location. They all were drawn to something in the lab, something the scientists activated just recently. Our secondary goal was to find this thing and shut it down, since the massive hordes of Zombies didn't help the exploration possibilities of the nearby area. So on the morning of August 21 I along with five experienced Stalkers gathered up our combat gear and headed off to the region entitled Kiril - a mostly radiation free forest west of the CNPP, now a zombie infested hellhole.
Interested?
Ohhhhhhhhh nice

Needed a bit more description but I liked it
Is it worth buying Call Of Pripyat, if i want to do artifact hunting and explorin a landscapes which has nice graphics and are beautiful?
Artifact huntin is different but still rewarding. Exploring is definitely good but the rewards for doing so aren't that great. Graphics are kinda meh but Atmosphere is easy to install and makes it awesome and wonderful.
Why are nights so bright in Redux?
[editline]12:19PM[/editline]
oh god i hear gunfire and dogs
They shouldn't be, they should be much darker than normal.

Also great story so far Para, as usual!
When playing Redux, I crash whenever I run a few feet outside of Yanov. :v:

I haven't had a problem with it until now.
Para has sort of replace Furiso. Speaking of which is he ever going to come back?

Well, sorry, not today. Hitting the city a bit later, I'll be sure to think of ideas.

The no prefetch mod seemed to increase my fps with SGM, but when I died and clicked escape I crashed.
Updated the story a bit, added more detail.
Paravin, you should make stories that don't start in the middle of something. Tell us what's going on first before shit starts happening.
But I like starting in action, then trekking back a bit in the past, and then progressing from the starting point.

Most of the time ''before'' is a talk with the trader/whatever and a boring walk to the location, just like in the game.
Try this mod. Since -noprefetch doesn't work in COP, this disables prefetching for either almost everything (recommended) or EVERYTHING (lol stutter). It helped with my RAM problems in PRIPYATAN, and definitely improves FPS.
I love you, I can play it now on full without being slower than a sloth on hot Zone day. :glomp:

Well it's called the Build up, rise, climax, falling actions, then conclusion. l2literature. I'm joking. Your stories are always a fun read, when they're not bat shit insane.
In a short story like this isn't not really that big of deal to jump a bit and keep it interesting. Some things don't make an interesting intro but are perfectly ok for other things.
Or when they're not posted on page 34
Is there anyway to unmod CoP without uninstalling it?
Are there any graphical mods in the vein of Complete 2009 for Call of Pripyat? I just finished SHOC with Complete 2009 and starting COP for the first time.
Delete gamedata folder
Atmosfear 2 fixes up the graphics if that's all you are after.

Delete the gamedata folder in your base CoP directory.
Atmosfear
His name is Skull and he has a nasty habit of dying during the quest, rendering it impossible.
What?
I never had problems with this!
I know i'm late, but i was browsing through the comments and i only have a few words to say:
Get a fucking sniper.
Seriously, get a sniper, go through the front entrance, get to the tower right next to the entrance, go to the very top, and snipe away. If out of ammo, use a Vintorez and headshot. I got over 20 Freedomers with this method.
After that i just zerged in with a Groza and nadespammed Freedom HQ to death. I love VOG-25 grenades.
Or tell Lukash you will kill Skull, run over there ahead of all the Freedomers, get money from Skull for helping with the ambush earlier, throw 3 grenades in the window of their little hut, shoot Skull in the face, lol at the Freedomers who come and see all the dead Dutyers.
Or just be a cool person and shoot the freedom sniper for skull, then say that you don't want to attack the base with them.
Sprint into the freedom base, (they don't know you did it so they shouldn't be hostile)
Watch some freedom members die and all the duty squad end up dead
Loot party.
Naww i can't let my bro Dutyers die.
Btw, nice avatar. iLove.
