I love Russian accents combined with broken English.
Where's that super detector in SGM that's really overpowered? I can't remember the name but I think it's in Pripyat.
It's part of a Military quest line involving a bunch of shit, after you do this last quest for this guy at the Helipad in Jupiter he gives you the location to a stash with the detector inside.
someone should upload SGM combined wih Atomsfear already!!
someone should upload SGM combined wih Atomsfear already!!
It's not hard to merge yourself, but there are some WEIRD graphical artifacts I've encountered, possibly because I'm using the hi-def atmosfear textures.

BEHOLD, THE SKYCUBE! [editline]11:18PM[/editline] It does this whenever the rainy/foggy cycle comes around.
Yes, exactly that. I take it this hasn't happened to you? Did you install the high-res sky textures?
Yes, but I previously tested it with the normal-res textures and it worked fine too. Perhaps your textures are in a misplaced folder? Because the weather looks fine besides the skybox
Yes, but I previously tested it with the normal-res textures and it worked fine too. Perhaps your textures are in a misplaced folder? Because the weather looks fine besides the skybox
I used the normal Atmosfear installer. The only thing I did besides specifying hi-res textures was set blowouts to kill instead of gib people and turn off fallout. [editline]11:27PM[/editline] Oh, and I'm using the Advanced Dynamic Lighting setting. Not the DX10.
Does atmosfear just replace the skyboxes or what? They look pretty and all, but does it do anything else? Also, I installed it to make pitch black my nights but it didn't...
It does make nights darker, especially if you're using the proper user_atmosfear.ltx. It retextures the sky, among other things.
Blowouts are like pure death dealing sex
Blowouts are like pure death dealing sex
I'm working furiously on acquiring anabiotics so I can experience them up close. Ride the wave, baby. [editline]12:02AM[/editline] Ahaha, someone needs to draw Awesome Stalker surfing on a blowout wave.
Seriously, to all you idiots asking how to install a mod, try reading THE FUCKING README FIRST. It's not that fucking hard. also you can't just come here and ask people to merge mods for you, use your brains. It seriously pisses me off.

[editline]10:24AM[/editline]
someone should upload sgm combined wih atomsfear already!!
this fucker right here
Yeah, but i.e. that guy who just asked for someone to merge SGM and atmosfear for him, that's just stupid. [editline]10:24AM[/editline] this fucker right here
Hows it stupid? I asked for instruction and alot of people have done it already so why not?
Hows it stupid? I asked for instruction and alot of people have done it already so why not?
Asking people to merge SGM, which is a big mod, with Atmosfear, which can be pretty big too, and uploading it is just stupid.
Hmm. Perhaps, you should reinstall SGM, install atmosfear to some random folder, merge the gamedatas, and then replace the system ltx with your SGM one. I used that method when I first merged, but when I applied the 2.1 patch (and its fix), I simply used the installer. [editline]12:27AM[/editline] Everything looks fine on mine by the way
Oh, there's a patch? I should look into this.
Also, my settings were to turn enemies into zombies, default nights, and default hemisphere tint. But I doubt it makes a difference.
Nope, I installed v2.1 right off the bat. [editline]12:31AM[/editline] I'll follow your method.
That might be your problem. Doesn't 2.1 require 2.0 to be installed first?
That might be your problem. Doesn't 2.1 require 2.0 to be installed first?
I'm not sure but isn't there a 2.1 installer?
There is. It's hundreds of MB too, so I don't think it's only a patch from 2.0.
Yeah you're right. My bad. Joe, did you combine the 2.1 and the 2.1 setup patch properly?
What?
Did you set these two up properly?
OK, I was using hi-res textures without the 2.1 fix, so maybe that was it. I'm not using those in this merge though, so let me test it...
Is it me or does Atmosfear 2.0 nightsky looks really low res.. You can see the jpeg compression easily :/ I wish it was more high res [IMG]http://imgclub.org/images/sshoward09.jpg[/IMG]
All the sky textures in Call of pripyat are like that, the skybox is stretched to accommodate the larger levels so in turn it looks lower res. Its partially fixable by choosing the high-resolution settings in atmosfear, but that increases the loading times a shitload for me.
