I loved Pripyat in CoP as well.
Also, i feel for you Croguy, you're not the only one.

Yea, at least it's not a billion Pseudogiants like that other guy had.

You know, at least Pseudogiants are slow.
When you have a fucking company of bloodfuckers right at your heels
I just sprint & strafe from bloodsucker packs while shooting at them, it worked several times for me.
I use my SUPERB HEARING to hear where they are and shoot a barrage of bullets.
Works erry time.
Water is pretty useful when fighting bloodsuckers in CoP.
Now we just need grass that when stepped on bends over.
Standing in a corner with a shotgun works pretty well too.
Standing in a corner with a shotgun works pretty well too.
There is no corners in a swamp.
Just get to an elevated point. Rocks or a cars work in a pinch, UAZs are good if you have enough warning to climb it. Trucks, they are the best if you ask me.
Also, why hasn't anybody responded to my questions about getting the modding tutorial to work?
Steam. Could you give me a file path? I'm a little slow.
Now, on the subject of the mod, I'm just planning on replacing the vanilla sounds with better ones, and tweaking a few features. Do you have any weapons sounds I can borrow? I would appreciate it.
Redux already has much-improved weapon sounds :)
More people need to play Ceano's mod because it's better than most major mods for CoP IMO
Plus it has a special version of atmosfear 2.1 built into it (optional ofc) so no need to hassle with merging
Have you heard of Redux?
It's like Ceano's but better (in my humble opinion).

I thought bloodsuckers didn't take any damage when invisible?
I thought bloodsuckers didn't take any damage when invisible?
Only in Clear Sky, at least they die from 5 or so shots when they become visible. At least mine do.
Yeah, it's Clear Sky only in which invisibility makes them bulletproof :P

Thank god
I think that Bloodsuckers should have as much health as a stalker in a SEVA suit does, but his blood sucking attack should be more often and more deadlier.
The sucking should be an instakiller.
Bloodsuckers really scare me.
Bloodsuckers really scare me.
You shouldn't be worried about Bloodsuckers...
Bloodfuckers, however..
My new favourite faction is
My new favourite faction is Clear Sky
Ain't that much of a faction when nearly all of it's members are dead.
They're pretty cool guys, considering that [sp]their top brass were all involved in the X-labs, and therefore in creating the Zone in the first place[/sp].
Actually, that's the reason why I don't really like Lebedev. [sp]He knew nearly everything about the Zone before it was even created and his knowledge could have helped everyone, and he kept it a secret for a year after his death.[/sp]

They are quiete fidel during Clear Sky [sp]sure, almost all of them die at the end[/sp] , but I like how they combine SCIENCE and
MILITARY.
Also, thier camo is NICE

I think his plan was more to direct actions that would benefit people, but without giving away his knowledge. He's always telling you do do stuff in Clear Sky without telling you why, after all.
Just for reference: Unreal Tournament 3 runs on high smooth with ~30fps, even GTA IV runs on low/mid with 25fps. And Shadow of Chernobyl runs like a charm with mostly 40fps, with exact the same settings.
UE3 is a very well optimized engine although most developers are dumb and create ROID RAGE BALD SPACE MARINE WITH GLOSSY TEXTURES games on it, Mirror's Edge being an exception.
My point? X-ray really isn't optimized that well.
You could try turning off AO or the sun effects. AO especially eats terrible amounts of GPU power and the graphics improvement is hardly noticeable.

Yea, my suspicions that he is keeping a secret were slowly rising as I went deeper into the game, and the EM1 Rifle is a dead giveaway that he worked in [sp]X-Labs[/sp].
Clear Sky is the best faction, I wish they were in CoP ( Without SGM )
I wanted to add them back in Redux v1.0 in Pripyat as a small base with a couple of guys that gave out missions, but ran out of time :(

Add them in future patches :3:

You could have stretched out the deadline. I'm preety sure that Redux v1.0 would have been a lot more polished and better if you did.

Doubt it. There's barely anything I could have done/added without throwing away a release date completely.
